We made some awesome soup a couple days ago, and gave some to our friends for their dinner. He has just had back surgery and is recovering at home, doing well. Two things actually…. Yesterday, we did a long bike ride on the gravel trail near our home. They are working on extending it another 5 miles, out to a sculpture park that is popular. We rode most of it, turning around a couple miles from the end. Beautiful ride in the woods.
Also, we were eating breakfast yesterday, and watched as a humming bird flew up to the feeder, and circled it several times, than flew right up to the window and hovered there, seemingly looking right at me. Then flew back to it , circled the feeder several times, and back to the window to stare at me the second time , then flew off. The water had turned cloudy, so clearly the feeder needed cleaning and refilling. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have had this experience. Apparently humming birds are more intelligent than we give them credit for.

One of my close friends is coming up to my city this week for work and has asked to spend the day together!
