Had to google that but it looks amazing!

@Alyssa646 @Ian_Chimp i can cook a little don’t get me wrong. And I certainly don’t expect to be cooked for every day. Oh works too but if I come home and everyone else has eaten it gets to me a little!
Majority of the time when I get home I’m completely done in and after a shower I just can’t be bothered to start cooking, plus most nights I need to get on with emails and paperwork etc! I’m probably so done in though each day with the not eating I know that! :man_shrugging:t3::man_facepalming:t3:

You could try making a batch of something at the weekend, and either fridging it or freezing it? That way it can be warmed up pretty easily and quickly when you do get in. Curry, bolognese, cottage pie, that kind of thing. Pasta is quick to cook fresh, or rice (couscous is even quicker if you’re really in a rush).

I agree. Batch-cooking saves so much time in the long run; depending on how many of you there are in the household, you/OH could do a serves 6-8 traybake to eat fresh, and also have warmed-up the day after, but also freeze a few servings for homemade microwave meals to eat the following week/month. It works well with a big pan of something stewy/saucy too, which only needs an accompanying jacket potato, or pan of rice popping on to cook beforehand. Heck, a nice chunk of crusty bread even. Once you get a rotation of batched food going, it’s possible to only have to cook (together) twice a week, and you can mix things up more with a cheat night takeaway :+1:

I’m able to finish earlier on Fridays when I can help do this, and we also do a session on Sunday afternoons. A cheap food processor helps chop/slice the veg, but frozen/tinned is also handy to cut a few corners

@Ian_Chimp i used to do this, ended up eating my lunch on my way to the job and always took one of my dinners and had it for lunch :joy:
I was in the deep proverbial before :man_facepalming:t3: Got in from work about 9, burnt, tired drained! Oh cooked and done me a plate! I looked at it and was so wiped out I just didn’t want anything! It got lashed in the bin and I was called an ungrateful you know what and told “that’s the last time you get anything made by me!” :man_facepalming:t3: I said well it was the first time too so :man_shrugging:t3: She’s angry :joy:

It’s far too hot to be standing over a hot stove.
I’ve just been making healthy snacks and quick simple meals like pasta.
More hungry for :eggplant::sweat_drops: in this heat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So, to sum up, you finally got the thing you’d been complaining about forever - and you fluffed it.:slightly_smiling_face:

If you don’t have enough energy to cook/eat when you get in, it may be time for a quick review of your work/life balance? Late nights, skipping meals, no time off - it’s not a sustainable option in the long term. Just my tuppence worth. :slightly_smiling_face:

Couldn’t face cooking tonight, far too hot for that! We’ve just had a Chinese takeaway instead :grinning:

@Ian_Chimp i need to seriously sort something! I’ve always worked like a crazy person, it’s never bothered me! Always used to put the extra hours in when I was employed! Not going good at the minute though, the amount of work I’ve got on at the moment is ridiculous and the 2 main lads who I employ (1 carpenter & a labourer) get payed a bloody good wage, van each the lot have you told me they’ve been offered a job for someone else for quite a lot more money and if I can’t match it they’re going to ha e to go! I know full well they’re just trying it on! I can’t even risk it though as if they go I am seriously up the creek! They know this too and I’m not happy, I’ve kept them in work for a good time now and always do what I can for them! I upped their wages from this week but as a result I’m working serious hours on my own to try pull something back this weeks been a hard one I’ll be honest! These lads and many others have no idea, people look in and think “look how much work he’s got on! Must be minted” they’ve no idea! I’m not skint by a long way but doesn’t mean I’m having people take advantage! This is kinda why I’m up the wall and drained at the minute!

Sorry to go from eating my dinner to this :man_facepalming:t3::joy: should of put it on the rant thread! Working till about 23:00 tonight and was out the door at 6:30 thismorning :see_no_evil: I will be eating when I get in tonight though I’m starving :yum::rofl:

Just eating pizza we ordered from Zizzi’s :pizza:
They are sooooo good :yum:
