Why are men's underwear so boring?

Wore a very different pair that came from China today. Figured they would be crap but they are actually fun to wear. 1 1/2" waist band, no enhanced pouch but stretchy type fabric up front, 1" criss-cross type webbing across the open bare butt area, snug legs to just above the knees, and large openings on both sides of the outer thighs. I had frontal support but could feel my jeans touching my skin on both the butt and sides of my legs. Fun.

Yes,Well said.Plus the fact there is so little on the market only adds fuel to the fire of the nay sayers who say it is wrong or whatever to wear these lovely items.

Absolutely. As my wife always says why on earth would anyone find a man in one of those pouches sexy.Instead you could have him with shaved legs wearing stockings and suspenders and a lovely pair of sexy lace knickers encasing a bulging cock ready to expose and enjoy.Does anyone or has anyone ever worn one of those pouches i wonder!? :joy:

Great

Theres a company that does really jazzy boxers, towels cushions and ladies underwear i emailed them asking if they were going to do mens thongs or G strings, sadly not the response was, well thats no custom from me, pitty as their designs are really funky

Its blokes boxers…what do you want.? A bit of frill, some Broderie anglaise?
I can just see me sitting with mates in the pub chatting…“Ive found this adorable new line in mens lingerie. Beautiful colours and the detail is exquisite.”
Que the piano player to stop abruptly, the guys at the pool table look up and the tumble weed rolls in.
I mean come on.!!!

…but that’s the problem isn’t it ?

All that’s available is boring underwear so that’s what men buy, and the manufacturers will tell you that men are not interested in anything else as market research tells them that men only buy boring underwear.

I’m not suggesting for a moment that men would sit around in the pub discussing their nice pants but I’m not sure that women do either.
It would be nice to have the choice though.

edited by mod they do boxer’s thongs and g strings thats mostly where ive bought mine

You’ve have had some great posts @Iwill

Ok im taking the piss… i just dont remember ever thinking while buying new boxers…" oh these are boring"
My wife usually buys them for me. CK, BOSS etc etc. What ever. Im more concerned that theyll be comfortable and not roll up at the leg while putting jeans etc on.
We had a good giggle at the ones with a padded front we came across…No, No No.!!! Thats just wrong!!

I have just noticed online there are now 2 suppliers selling “His & Hers Uni-Sex Knickers”.They look feminine and pretty and the styling is such that they should work on most M or F.Sizes are dual too.At long last,a little step forward.

Just for you, I’m currently having breakfast and doing a few jobs round the house, wearing the underwear below.
I both look and feel amazing/kinky/sexy/ridiculous*

Edited to add: Regardless of any fetishistic angle, the one thing I do find with lingerie over men’s underwear is just how incredibly comfortable it is. Even the more glamorous lingerie I wear, which at first looks as though it’d be uncomfortable, feels amazing once it’s on, even with the issues of women’s lingerie in a male body.
The Brazilians I’m wearing this morning (as per the photo) are amazing. Soft and sleek it’s like they’re not there, but at the same time they are. Just doesn’t happen with plain old men’s underwear.
And that’s before we delve in to the notion that lingerie is always more colourful and flamboyant than anything designed for men.

@marbles1 . If you feel good, im so pleased for you.
The question in the thread was why is male underwear so boring.
My question is why should it be anything but functional and comfortable.
Womens lingerie is designed for the female figure.
It is often designed to compliment certain styles of clothing in the cut of the bra and the knickers. This is to allow various clothing styles to look good without lingerie lines effecting the look.
Mens clothing rarely is effected by underwear to the same extent.
So i go back to the starting question and what would anyone want to change to what would remain " mens underwear" to make it less boring .
What you are wearing is not mens underwear, its womens.

What @marbles1 is wearing is unisex underwear why does there have to be a set rule.

But surely, if lingerie really was designed to the same criteria of functionality as men’s underwear is, everything would end up being a sports bra and pants? It doesn’t need to be colourful or overly detailed and yet it is.
Lingerie is far more about style over function and that just doesn’t happen with men’s stuff.
The idea that simply feeling good through one’s choice of underwear and simply liking how you look yourself seems restricted to girls.

@teacake . Was it unisex.? The link picture was a woman wearing what looks like a bra and knickers.:man_shrugging:

@marbles1 Ok. So what would you do to “mens” underwear to make it less boring.?
That was the thread question, as to why it is boring.
Womans lingerie is designed to control or adjust the shape of boobs, so it may enhance the appearance of a dress for example.
Men dont have that requirement.

I think men’s underwear has for the most part remained boring because of upbringing , being modest and what many were taught . I the locker room when I was in school , I was noticed . I was one of the first in my school to wear bikini briefs , and OMG in color ! That was in the 70s . Many men were raised wearing tidy whites and boxers and just never switched when their moms quit buying their underwear .

@Oldman . You are probably correct. In general though , its like reinventing the wheel.
Woman might wear a thong to avoid knicker lines in tight fitting skirt or trousers.
She will wear a style of bra to give more uplift to suit a dress.
Men just need a garment to do what it says on the tin…it may be more snug fitting and less saggy than Y fronts or baggy boxers and wacky in design pattern or colours, but thats as much as you can do.
I think i’ll stick to comfortable snug competitor or the likes of.
