No not yet but I have heard from a clinic in Turkey which has got back to me they are just leasing with the doctor now so hopefully hear back soon.
Thats good, have you research the Dr?
I donāt know if I answered the question about whether I care about testicles. Iāve had a think and yeah I donāt care if theyāre there or not.
I am glad of that. I will be glad to see the back of mine and actually looking forward to being a eunuch with no ball or scrotum
I havenāt been told the Dr name yet but are quoting 2500 to 3000 for the procedure And hotel room is included and transfers to and from Airport. just finding out it it is under local or general anaesthetic. Thank you for asking about me
Of course, youāre part of the family ![]()
At least you can search the clinic name, even check on Trustpilot and social media. Though people do tend to embellish when theyāre giving a poor recommendation, so like anything take it with a pinch of salt.
Hiya there @lumberjack
Is there anyway you can talk to another person who has had this surgery done by this doctor? Have you researched how many surgeries has he performed? Also healing timesā¦and sexual function afterwardsā¦and if you can get the medication prescribed in the UK afterwards if you decide you want that?
I understand you have gone through years of pain and it must be awful for you and add on a divorce which stemmed from this. You just want them gone and to start again.
It sounds like your mind is made upā¦you need to be pain free and this is what you wantā¦as regards to relationships afterwards as long as you are honest from the start and if sex is on the agenda and you can get the medication⦠then it shouldnāt be a problem.
Just like other body modifications like penis subincisionā¦tongue bifurcationā¦it will probably shock at firstā¦but if someone likes you for you then it wonāt be an issue.
As others have saidā¦breast removal⦠wigs⦠prosthetic limbsā¦hearing loss⦠blindness⦠having a colostomy bagā¦tattoos etc etc are all issues you canāt initially see on meeting someoneā¦and itās down to the individual when that conversation happens.
If this is what you want for youā¦then sort out the relationship afterwardsā¦
Please research research and researchā¦itās always hitting the news about foreign surgeons who donāt have the qualifications needed to perform surgeries who are making fast money.
Good Luck @lumberjack

Thank you for your concern I am scared about it as well. I have no one to really talk this through with as I canāt exactly ask my friends as they I think would freak some know of my testicular pain and my ex does as well but it is pretty strained our relationship but I will have a think and try to find out some more about the Turkish sexology clinic which is offering me the surgery they want me to have a video consultation where the surgeon wants to see my genitalia to decide what they can do and not do. That will happen later on this week. I will try to do some more digging I am not going to go with it unless they convince me that they are competent donāt worry ![]()
Would your ex or someone who knows about your pain go with you for support?
Then youāre not alone in a foreign country lugging luggage around when you will be in pain and having no-one to talk to.
Not really I will manage on my own. I am going to delay it for a few weeks as the flight prices are ridicules at the moment and I need time to just let things sink in.
I am desperate to get rid of the pain but my gut is telling me to be careful and you guys are saying research which I need to do Alara health group are the company in turkey in the department of sexology.
I watched a documentary on BBC i-player called Turkey Teeth last week, i would recommend that you watch it. Also saw a feature on This Morning last week too, a mother and daughter travelled to Turkey for a tummy tuck and breast lift respectively. Both were botched. So please do loads of research before taking the plunge.
Iāve googled them and looked them up on facebook, instagram and tiktok. Their facebook page has no likes, comments or shares on any post and 181 followers.
Their Instagram posts get 4-6 likes some posts get a few comments but the majority donāt. I canāt find any tiktok videos on them. There are no patient photos on their page and the pictures they do use are stock photos. Google has some positive and negative reviews.
Its the lack of people talking about them on social media that concerns me because people talk about everything on social media. When I searched Alara Health Group on tiktok, every video that came up was for Apera Health Group.
When you google Alara a few sites come up that seem to help you book into different hospital groups. Some of the Drs listed on that page are not on Alaras main website and some that are on the main website are not on that booking site.
I know you donāt want to hear it but from the little research Iāve done, Iām not seeing anything that makes me feel confident in them. Of course my opinion is irrelevant but please make sure you read lots about them and donāt jump into it hastily.
Thank you so much for that you didnāt need to spend your time googling I have come to a similar conclusion as you from the messages they have sent me via WhatsApp have been a little chaotic to say the least. I have sent them all my information they are saying they want me to send them photos of my genital area so they can make a preliminary decision on the surgery I am supposed to have a video consultation in the next few days it is going so quickly my head is spinning.
I watched the video that Will told me about teeth in Turkey was a massive shock I am just going to go back to the drawing board with all this it is happening too quickly for me
Thank you again so much for your searching you have done more for me in the last few weeks than most people have done for me ever
Really sorry to say this but I think you would be nuts (no pun intended) to go abroad and have this sort (any sort) of surgery done by someone who has never met you or examined you.
Still donāt really understand why you arenāt banging on the door of your GP and local surgical team (along with getting some counselling) if you are in pain.
Your body, your decision but I wouldnāt get cut and diced by someone I had never met and had no understanding of my medical history.
Well that makes me sad but Iām happy youāve got us to support you even if it is anonymously.
Someone mentioned botox, you could run that by a Dr and see if what it does might possibly help. It just baffles me that a vasectomy has caused this and they wonāt repair it.
.
I am going to ring up the Secretary for the urologist I last saw 6months ago and see what they say it is worth a try I suppose
Try a non-binary support group too, now you have self diagnosed, they may be able to help you get NHS help for your surgery.
suppose that is an option go down the non binary route and see where that takes me will take a long time but I have Waited this long I suppose I could go that way thanks Will
The Turkish clinic are so keen to get me to go over and get it done but they have been stopped by me not having a Psycologist at the moment to say I am sane and am not being pressured into getting this done by someone else.
One good thing that has come out of this is I now know I need a Psycologist to do a letter to get this done so I will try to find a psychologist near me in wales which will be a challenge!!
Anyhow I will speak to my urologist admin team as well and see what can be done
I have been online and the Terence Higgins Trust have various charityās on there websites so will try to go and email them later
Do not worry too much I am fine on my own at the moment. Just need to get through this and then look for a new partner. And I am sure things will get better once I have sorted myself out.
Iām have now found a psychologist waiting for the first appointment which is in 3 weeks
