I'd just start off with something small and cheap- and nothing realistic looking! The facebook freebie that WandA recommended, a bullet or a ladyfinger. It'll get you started without having invested too much money if you don't like it. Then once you've tried something you'll have a better idea about what you like/don't and it'll be easier for you to choose something a bit fancier in the future:).

I think that's a good idea, pick something clitoral (that can perhaps be inserted a little for experimentation purposes). She'll soon be converted and desperate to try more.
