Lack of communication and lack of intimacy which was massively impacting as everything else was great

One thing I find fascinating is how people can see intimacy, expression of love, passion in completely different ways.
For example, my OH likes to hold hands and cuddle on the sofa. For her, that is important for her needs of feeling secure, comfortable and loved.
Personally I don’t like holding hands (long story, but makes me uncomfortable). For me, my intimacy needs are more through kissing, and skin on skin contact. Sex has always been a big thing, and always learning more about why that is for me. For my OH it is not such a big thing in relationships.
And yes, communication is absolutely key to any long term relationship, and this is the first time in a relationship I have felt able to be open and honest from day one (again, very much a me thing in the past).
