I put in a request to change my username as per the instructions 6 days ago but have heard nothing yet. Not sure how long these things take.

Did you include the username change template from the welcome thread? Also, it is worth checking your spam folder, as sometimes replies from Customer Care can end up in there

I followed the instructions in @Stacy2 post above and sent the email to customer care and have checked the spam/junk folders. I am really not bothered now so dont worry about it and i will just keep the username i have. 
I’m sure it will be actioned soon! The team are particularly busy this time of year, so there might just be a bit of a delay
