I don't know if someone has already thought of this and if they have I am sorry. I was thinking maybe Lovehoney should make their own dating forum. This is a specialised company which everyone here has an interest in. There is your first thing in common. I don't know the facts or figures on the single users ratio but I bet it could help bring a lot of people together and of course increase sales.

Whilst I agree with the reasons why Lovehoney have such strict rules and why they don't do it, I do think this is a possible good idea! It is hard to divulge extreme personal details and to meet others with the same interests without going on to very extreme forums! At least if you were able to discuss your fetishes and likes before meeting there wouldn't be any surprises or dissapointments. The Lovehoney forum and their success does prove there are a lot of us out there with simular interest so maybe there is a call for a dating site for adventurous people.
I completely understand that people want to remain anonymous to talk on this open forum, but surely on the Lovehoney dating site, people can sign up and have a username totally different from their forum name in order to date.
This way you can still use the forum and for the dating site use another name/proper name keeping your anonymity on the forum.

Even in relationships some topics are taboo and both partners might not want to admit or go into details regarding there personal preferences. I understand the privacy that Lovehoney provides but I'm sure there is a way of opting in to such a service and choosing what to disclose. I hope if they do come up with such a service they would remember who initiated it lol
Yes sounds good to me, ah thx Alicia i was wondering why there was the add friend option as i was using it i thougth you could message people it's a shame some people can't behave and then over abuse rights and spoil things for everyone else! But the friend button helps me to see which thread people been on if you don't keep up to date with forum, however such a shame you can't message people so the lovehoney dating would be amazing
The big bonus I can see from it is like other dating sites you could have a lists of likes and dislikes but obviously that list would be a bit different! Aswell as things like "cinema,socialising etc" you'd also have things "anal, latex, bondage" then you could meet someone with same interest and also fetishes as you! I have some extreme fetishes and needs and if I had to meet someone again I know this would a make or break for a relationship! If you could get it all out before you met so both would know and you could find someone who shares your interest surely that would help.
Well you can put your likes and dislikes on your profile, it is a shame that we can't share our twitter handles on here now though seeing as lovehoney do promote on social media sites.
I don't see any issues with safety on here when you hide behind a user name as long as you don't share personal information.
But at end of day love honey make the rules so we will just have to follow them.

If there was a dating section I would feel rather uncomfortable. I enjoy my times on the forums as I don't feel like anyone's trying to get into my knickers. There are so many dating sites and hook up sites where you can find those into similar things.
I thought it odd that there was a "friend request" thing, but basically you still couldn't PM the user. Given LH's previous negative experience around this, I can understand their position.
I guess they are looking for a way to enhance their core business, and an open forum where ideas are discussed without external pressure helps them achieve that (no risk of personal contact etc). If you were to add in a dating aspect, it may put people off venturing here to begin with, and possibly costing them sales.
Ahh it's a shame the chat facility was removed, would have made it easier to ask specific questions from people. Oh well, forum seems nice and active :)

As a regular LH forum member for a few years now I'd be gutted if it turned into anything resembling a dating site. I've stuck around this forum as I enjoy it just as it is, with no fear of any inappropriate messages.

No one is saying turn the forum in to a dating site. I think the suggestion is that LH should do a separate dating site for members to meet likeminded people for dating and relationships.
Guys... There are already so (SO) many websites for dating and hookups that this just would not be of any benefit to Lovehoney whatsover. And there are sites where you can disclose sexual preferences too.
Just a few reasons, from our perspective, why this would be a bad idea are:
1) It would make us no money (in fact it would only cost us money)
2) We can't protect the people who join it (we already get people reporting things to us which happen on Twitter between members and we don't have anything to do with Twitter, so if we had our own dating website/forum I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be to moderate)
3) It wouldn't help our business at all
4) It detracts from everything we stand for: open discussion about sex and sex toys
Also if we offered any sort of private chat/forum, forgetting the obvious issues, many people would move away from this public domain. It would be a real shame to have to close what is already a great community.
There is absolutely no way we will ever reinstate private chat or introduce a dating forum or site.
