I'm trying to find somewhere (hotel, B&B, private let, tent, shed, cardboard box) for a dirty weekend away that meets most or all of the following requirements - anyone got any good, tried and tested recommendations?
Intimate
Absolutely discrete
Sensual
Self contained
Within an hour's drive of central Essex
Big shower and bigger bath
Tasteful
Website with pictures
Cost is less of an issue (within reason) - am happy to pay for the right venue

It sounds like it meets your needs, I wrote a brief summary of it at http://factsandfriction.blogspot.com/2008/08/if-i-were-rich-man.html. Brighton might be a bit far from Essex, but the play room has its own entrance to the street, a double round bed with a mirrored canopy, a huge bath and is part of a very cool seeming boutique hotel. Have a look!
The Pelirocco is one I have already come across and is certainly a possible contender but for the distance in that it is such an arse getting around the M25 on a friday afternoon - kinda puts a dampener on the mood being stuck in a traffic jam!

That hotel is amazing. I know of a similar themed hotel in the peak district but not as sexy as this one. And I love the pole dancing area, and that if you shag yr women into a sex como, there's a 42 inch TV with a PS2 to keep you amused till she's ready for more.lol
OMG the pin-up and Betty rooms are amazing! I'd love to stay there. The Playroom is great but too expensive for me.
Yeah, it is very expensive. Still, we can but dream, and it would be nice to splurge out on it for a very special weekend!

Ooh I should have thought to mention the Mr and Mrs Smith website/book. The forums at moneysavingexpert.com are always good for special offers, not sure if they have a lot of hotel ones on there but they have everything else!
we managed to get the hotel that Man United ruined with the usual footballer antics for £90 a night about a year or so ago, not bad compared to the usual asking rate!
I'm not so taken by the perilocco hotel, ok so the play room looks good but I don't think it beats something a bit more classy with a PORN feel, I reckon the stuff we filmed in that hotel looks really damn good unfortunately I can't be bothered with the whole blanking out the faces, re-sizing and uploading malarkey so you'll just have to take my word for that.

I'm already a card carrying member of Mr & Mrs Smith - we've used them many times and recently their concierge service has been impeccable with helping sort my rapidly looming honeymoon.
I could easily lose a months wages bookiing rooms through Smith - Miss A is getting rater accustomed to the luxury. The reason for starting this post was in the hope of finding somewhere in Essex that might serve as a regular locale for us to explore fantasy, role play and the like away from the familiararity of home.
There are plenty or mediocre motels, inns and B&B's etc - guess we'll have to try them all and report back here with our findings.
