I've been looking for a new collar for the OH. However what is on offer here at LH is not what we are after.
Does anyone know where I can get a good collection of collars for the OH or if requests can be made to LH for specific items?

if you find something that you like and post on the pander to me thread, Bonnie will look at it, it doesn't mean that they will definately stock it but she will look at it and tell you whether or not they can.
Are you positive Lh doesn't have what you want (sometimes the site can be a bit difficult to orgasnise or search)? What are you looking for?

Sorry to no have reviewed this earlier... been busy as hell at work and not had a chance to get back here.
I do not need convincing so much, there are a few items on there I think would fit in to our play very well from a practical stand point. She wants something pretty and custom I think... I can hear my wallet crying already.
Well... I guess is she wants it custom made, then good luck. Not sure if LH does custom made items, as they would have to contact the maker. Maybe try contacting some of the companies yourself. Or maybe just contact someone who works with leather to make you one.

Have you tried looking at simple pet stores? Every collar I own is actually a dog collar. They're always comfortable and have the same loops and whatnot to attach chains and leads etc too - obviously! I suspect they're also easy to get custom made, due to pet fanatics.
I guess it depends on what she considers pretty really.

A dog has a thick layer of protective fur around its neck and, as such, most animal collars are finished quite poorly on the inside lining. Not only would this be uncomfortable to delicate human skin but it could potentially cause lesions and grazes from constant rubbing.
Similarly, animal collars tend to be quite slim in width, allowing it to sit comfortably on the necks of both big and small dogs. However, all humans have a very similar neck size and the traditional fetish collars are designed to sit in a way that allows you to breathe comfortably and doesn’t stop you from swallowing. You can’t guarantee the same shaping and safety with an animal collar!
One final point comes in regards to sizing. Animal collars are designed to be tight so your precious pet cannot escape from it when it’s time for walkies. Human collars are designed to be tight but not too tight and, therefore, are only adjustable between certain sizes. You are much more likely to get the sizing wrong on an animal collar so it’s really not worth the risk.

@MM Ah thanks for that, I wasn't aware of that information. My favourite dog collar is hand made from leather with the same finish all over. To be honest, I can see a lot of that quality and protection being lost if I ever went down the scale of dog collars. Definitely something I'll keep in mind.

Thats ok, I think that the higher end ones are ok, but the cheaper ones certainly aren't.
That was very useful information it isn't something I'd ever really thought about before but it makes sense. I use an old dog collar that doesn't seem to uncomfortable but then again I don't wear it day in day out so it's less likely to cause problems!

There are custom stores out there that do metal colars with locks on, not just the thick metal collars but thin oue with heart or start shaped locked etc.... most of these stores are in the US so expect to pay $11 - 30ish postage Will try and find the links to the other stores later.

My OH bought me a collar from a famous auction website which is actually a animal collar, but with diamante lettering on it, on which you can stick up to 10 letters on it.
I was allowed to pick the lettering, and the choices were, ahem cough-cough, rather graphic to say the least.
Finally, I was allowed 'My Pet Slave' on a lovely pink leather collar with a metal lead.
The list of not-allowed ran into dozens.....;-) which if you ask, I'll share!

Is it a play collar or an everyday collar she wants? My collar is actually a silver necklace (vintage Italian silver, I'm told) and I never take it off. It wasn't exorbitantly expensive, but it certainly wasn't cheap... but for something that will hopefully last a lifetime, he was happy to invest!

I did indeed Mrs P. I believe Mistress D has purchased quite a lot of our bondage equipment form there.

I have even worn it on a night out (pic in my profile) and was asked by quite a few people where I got it from, they all thought it was a cracking collar.
