Monogamy: A Hot Affair Game
I waited with anticipation last year when I first ordered this, and when it arrived I couldn’t help immediately opening it to steal a look. I should have been keeping it under the bed for a while until I arrived in China to be with the SO again, but…
My girlfriend and I loved this board game when we first tried it, and we still love it to bits. With Monogamy, you play as a couple and simply roll the dice to find out what to do next - by following the instructions where your counter lands or by choosing a card. What makes it especially great is that with the different levels of intimacy on the cards, your game can be as sweet or as sexy as you desire, depending on your mood.
The standard rules progress gradually through all 3 levels as your counters pass along the board - intimate, passionate and steamy, but mix it up how you like. Go through a whole game of “intimate” cards if you’re a new couple or just want a honey-sweet time cuddling in pillows, or up the heat on the winter fire with the “passionate” and “steamy” cards if you’re up for a raunchier time. If you’ve managed to hold yourselves back by the game’s end, choose yourselves a fantasy from the very well-written black cards and bring things to a climax.
Monogamy’s reputation as one of the finest games for couples is well deserved. Its various cards are created with obvious creativity, and the extra activities you share keep the game unpredictable and extremely sexy - play a full game together through all levels of intimacy and you’ll find the bigger challenge becomes stopping yourselves from jumping to the final act! You’re encouraged to experiment with your clothing, share a romantic drink together, enjoy food in whichever creative ways you can imagine, though keep in mind you need to provide these things yourselves - unless you buy the very nice-looking kit of extras.
This game is suitable for couples of any age (18+) or intimacy, and is a wonderful way to turn the bedroom heat way up and exploring new things. So if you’re snowed in this winter and are lucky enough to already own one - good for you! Turn up the lounge fire, turn down the lights, and enjoy!
Overall Rating: 10 out of 10 stars
Pros: Wonderfully intimate and sexy, loads of activities and choosable levels.
Cons: Nothing really. Some may find the counters easy to lose or a bit plain.
Bottom Line: Something all couples will enjoy in various ways. New heat for a staling bedroom.
