I’ve got mixed feelings on a second lockdown. I worry what it will do to our economy and the mental health of the nation.
We had to strictly isolate for a long time as my husband is vulnerable, he really struggled with being off work for 12 weeks. I have to work at home, which I’m so grateful for the fact I kept my job, however its hard with two kids in the house.
However when the world briefly felt like it was slipping back into normality, I actually found myself missing lockdown. I missed the quality time we all spent together, I missed actually having the time to relax and play board games with the kids and all the stuff you find yourself just to busy for normally.
Fingers crossed whatever they decide works and we can keep our loved ones safe

Surely a second panic-buying spree won’t include bog roll this time? Surely second time around people will realise that they just need pasta and plenty of beer for the fridge? If people start panic buying bog roll again then I will know for sure that our nation are nutters.

Considering I live in Ireland and my partner lives in London I’m certainly not looking forward to the prospect of another lockdown. It’s bad enough that I haven’t been able to see them since December.

Yep @FortySomethingWife saw it with my own eyes… I counted the multi packs in this couples trolley…wait for it…in total
144 toilet rolls 8×18 pack
And in their other trolley…loads of bags of pasta and micro chips…and I mean loads it was brimming

Every time I go shopping the toilet rolls stock is always fairly low. Like… Come on!

Theres no denying that this little bug is a nasty wee bugger and each measure a country tries seems to get defeated, whether through the bug adapting to changing conditions, or, ineptitude of the controls put in place.
For NZ, we had 0 community cases for 3 months, then bang, some sort of failing at the border and it got out causing a near lockdown in Auckland and monitoring in the rest of the country. Now theres a case where someone tested negative twice over the supposed incubation period but has now tested positive after being allowed out.
I do feel sorry for my children who will be repaying the debt incurred to soften the economic blow for this event

I really don’t understand the panic buying of toilet roll.
A person only needs one, at any point in time.
Wine and chocolate, however - an entirely different matter… oh - and food.
I’ve had weird cravings through this period (not pregnant). Prawn cocktail flavoured Skips crisps and Jelly Babies - that is lunch, right?
