Second lock down?

@AWB1955 regional lockdown in lots of areas.
I think if they can lockdown just the metropolitan areas they can say it isn’t a national lockdown.

There is another thread about this, so I’ll shut up, but I can’t link it.

OK up here, despite additional restrictions, but personally I am missing my friends and don’t live near family (come to think of it, they are bonkers, so that’s ok )

Take care x

@MsR lockdown is plsying hell here in Wales for me coukd not use the gym. Now can’t see my children plus can’t pick my grand children up.or play with them hope your keeping safe

Sorry it is so hard for you.
I have just decided to stay at home as much as possible - gym etc was never my thing but I do miss friends and I feel for those who have wider families nearby. My kids are still teens / tweenies. Two of us were shielded, so taking no chances.
Hope you can Skype / Facetime / Zoom your family.
Good luck!

@MsRthanks for those kind words please keep safe hope to chat again

These new rules seem to be as confusing as the first set I work in the cleaning industry but most of our work is carried out in peoples homes whether that be just a dirty house or a hoarder house and I’m wondering if I will be but on furlough again or I’ll be allowed to go to work

It’s a real dilemma between helping the NHS or the economy. Many companies have additional measures in place that didn’t exist back in March so would be safe to continue.

For me, the question is how long will this lockdown continue. Trying to be optimistic but I wouldn’t be surprised if it rolls in Spring.

I’m just a casual bystander observing from the USA. Don’t have the fortitude to really watch the news so I hope all is going well for the LH friends under the reign of QE2. LoveHoney is a welcome diversion during a pandemic!

I quite enjoyed the last lockdown and ended up being busier than I was before it happened so this second one should be interesting plus nice to take space again to self focus on things and well-being

Hi All,

Wow, another lockdown which is devastating news but I understand why we have to do this my fitness and own mental health has been battered over the last 6 months and I am now worried about getting back on the scales however I am going to do it tomorrow. I am going to have to get my head in the game and push through I’m thinking of splashing out on Svakom Alex Neo App Controlled Thrusting Male Masturbator as a treat as the stress of working from home is incredible. I love my family but its crazy hard for my kids to just leave me working

Feel for you. I really enjoy running and found I had extra time during the first lockdown and with the sunny weather we had it was perfect. This time round the weather is awful and it’s darker earlier so not sure I’ll be out as much, will have to get myself back into boxing and find some HIIT workouts!

The stats are worrying but we have to remember that although the recorded cases are higher now than earlier this year, that doesn’t necessarily mean there are more cases - just that there are more tests confirming it. Or at least, that’s what I’m hoping.

I’m just so angry, this was largely avoidable if systems put in place in the summer had actually been run by experts and rolled out professionally. This wasn’t inevitable. The whole ‘ no one could see this coming’ is just gaslighting.
On a personal note, the lockdown won’t change what my daughter, I and my husband do during the week, and as a mental antisocial creature, I can’t say the social restrictions bother me. I just hope systems are in place for working test and trace come the spring, that the death counts aren’t as bad as I fear they will be, and that there is still something resembling an NHS thereafter too.

I agree, some systems weren’t up to scratch but if more people had followed the rules the first time around we might not be in this position again now.

Have to agree with @Gosig and @Joe_90, in different ways.

People should not have been encouraged to go on holiday, out to eat, back to offices etc.
It is obvious that the more people associate with each other, the more the virus will spread - there is increasing evidence that it is spread by aerosols (air-born).

The only way to carry on with some sense of normality is to have a fully functioning ‘track, trace, isolate’ system, which we don’t have. And much sooner use of masks and distancing.

It was perfectly obvious that summer holidays abroad, schools and universities returning were not safe - same all over Europe.

Some of it is down to individual behaviour, but a lot is also down to government messaging and how that is interpreted.

Today the furlough scheme has been extended to March 2021 - it makes sense that some form of lockdown will continue until then. That timescale could also be used to disguise the economic effects of Brexit… who knows.

At last, the environment suits introverts - yay! - but that doesn’t take away concerns when a dangerous virus is about, and it doesn’t help those losing income.

It is a cliche, now, but stay safe everyone.

If you watched the news this morning you will have seen our future politicians and captains of industry demonstrating to the rest of the country just how to behave and maintain social distancing.
Confirmation of Mr Burnhams case for special treatment if ever it was needed!!! :man_shrugging::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Personally I always thought it was inevitable that we’d have some form of panic or restrictions through the winter. Even if there wasn’t a second wave, the usual rise of winter flu would have likely caused panic as people wouldn’t know if it was flu or Covid until test results come back - and what do you do with people who might have it but might not when they’re in hospital or other places.

There is no ideal situation until a vaccine is fully delivered.

Lockdown? There is no lockdown. This is madness, my local Dunelm and B&Q were open yesterday, there has been absolutely no change whatsoever. My sister in law actually came to my house yesterday, when I answered the door she actually just tied to walk straight inside my house with her husband and children… what?! “Oh we thought we’d come round as we knew you would be home as you can’t work at the moment…”. Are you for real!!! We are in a national lockdown! No. No. No!

I’m not allowed to continue my business as a hair dresser but everyone else can just continue their lifestyle as if nothing has changed. It’s these people that will be the cause of me still not being able to reopen my business at the start of December.

Who knew you could be so cross so early in the day

Not surprised people are rebelling to be honest. Pretty much living in a totalitarian state…

I feel your frustration, the rules are so contradictory. In March my dental appointment was cancelled, my re-booking for Tuesday is still on (I checked) but my mom’s optician appointment is cancelled. Then as you say there are non essential shops open. Are you able to claim on the furlough scheme?
