I’ve had no issues with mine so far and it’s had, well, let’s just say, quite a hell of a lot of use in the last 6 months 
Anyway, the outer skin layer still moves perfectly up and down the entire shaft and folds over the head still perfectly. I guess there must be some kind of lubricant or powder perhaps inside between the skin and shaft to allow this huge amount of sliding movement, and maybe it could become damaged or dry up? I have no idea but maybe it’s worth raising the question with Lovehoney, they may be able to shed some light on this.
I think I’d cry if mine broke - and then buy another
