Took my son to the park today (just got back actually and am starting up the Traeger to cook ribs). There were other kids there too and we were able to play tag and then transition over to a 3-on-3 game of soccer.
Sun was shining, temperature was about 75 degrees F (23.8 degrees C) so it was warm but not hot. It was nice to just get out of the house and be around people again.
Also I’m not a dad that sits on the sidelines and watches my son play. I like to get out there and join the fun. I jumped in on both tag and soccer. Was super fun and also a great bit of exercise.

So not to put too much out there but regarding marriage, me and OH have dipped into a bit of a low spot.
Yesterday I went all out to do nice and sweet things for her. Basically things that involved various areas of the house that need cleaning but neither of us really wanted to do. Also I cooked her favorite ribs on the grill and had them waiting for her when she finished work.
The biggest downer for OH is if she comes home and the house is dirty. Apparently that just sucks the life out of her. I knew it was a bummer for her but I didn’t know how much she didn’t like it till recently.
Specifically when the floors are unswept, dirty dishes in the sink, non-kitchen related items on the counter, living room couch in disarray, dog toys all over the floor, etc…
So when OH came home last night and one of her favorite foods was waiting for her in a clean kitchen, she really liked that.
She didn’t say anything last night though. But today after she left for work (she works afternoons to midnight) on the drive she made it a point to call me and tell me how much she liked all the sweet things I did for her.
I was honestly not expecting it so it also meant a lot that she expressed her appreciation. #betterhusband 
And that’s what literally just cheered me up

I love this, I’m just like your wife.
Being in a messy house just makes me feel down.
I try and tell hubby how I feel about it but he doesn’t get it, I would love some more help with the small things around the house - it makes such a big difference to me.
The hard part is maintaining it and trying to do these little things more often to keep her happy

Actually had enough energy to play Apex legends with some friends yesterday. We all died alot which made me feel better about being the rookies and still at the “which button do i press? is this gun any good? How do i punch?” Stage

Got knocked back from buying super glue today as I didn’t look old enough. I don’t really carry ID on me all the time since I only have my passport. Well, I guess I should take it as a compliment that I failed the challenge 25 policy at least? I told them I was over 30, but no ID meant no glue for me 
I should really invest in a provisional even if I have no intention to drive so I can buy all that grown-up stuff by myself, haha.
