What cheered me up recently

I don’t normally read but got the urge to yesterday. 100 pages later and I’m hooked. Feels good to be back just in my own little corner of the house with a good book :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s called Supermarket by the musician Logic. It’s the first book he’s written. Think it’s a few years old but really good

Not heard of but just looked it up and the story sounds pretty interesting, think that will go on my (never ending) to read list

I haven’t read for a while now @KentCouple1990 , but the last book I read was - Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, one of my favourite books.:slightly_smiling_face:

I’m amazed at how you got the flag to stand up so straight in the glass.

I was caught up on housework and yard work and wanted to go visit my old fishing buddy . Plus my mid sized motorcycle needed it’s turn out for a spin . The whole ride is only about 160 miles , mostly slow 35-45 MPH and very twisty with great elevation changes especially while skirting Mt Rainier (14,400’ or so ) . My buddy has had medical issues and does not get out much . I do not think too many people visit him often , including his kids that live all the way across the country . We had a nice visit and caught up with everybody we know and what we have been up to . After getting home from the ride I was texting with my buddy that lives 1,100 miles away with extensive medical issues . He had had a nurse visit and a doctor’s appointment earlier in the day . So I got caught up on all the info and asked if he followed my suggestions over the prior two days and if he felt any better and were his vitals better ? Yes he felt better and vitals looking good . He was having a down day and I sent him jokes and gifs and he said thanks for that . So overall a win day for me .

A peaceful summer Sunday in the garden.

I think everyone must have mowed their grass and trimmed their hedges last week and took the dogs out for a walk today.

Rainier is beautiful. I saw it several times when I lived out there. An almost perfect cone!

Yesterday at the grocery store as always I chat up many people to try and make them smile or laugh . I had done that with a number of people and as I continued and was talking to a woman maybe 25-30 years younger . She was pretty and cute and I had her smiling and laughing quickly . Bless her heart , she hit on me . I explained I was married and as loyal as an old dog . But thank you so much , you made my day . Every once in a blue moon it is nice to know at least one person thinks you look good enough to shag .

I was at the store the other day, and asked the clerk to give me a 10 and two 5’s for a 20.

I then told her about an article in the paper about a guy who was counterfeiting $18 bills. She questioned me, and I said, “Yeah. This guy was running around the back woods trying to pass these off. So he went into an isolated country store, and asked the clerk to break it. The clerk then asked him if he wanted 6’s or 3’s.”

She had a good laugh, along with the person behind me in line.

So this year i planted savoy cabbages.
Now I have a garden full of pretty white butterflies .
Sometimes you just have to roll with nature and embrace rather than fight it.
