Priced at ‘three un six’, this edition came off the shelves the year before I was born. Handling with care.

Honda GL 1200 Gold Wing service manual. We bought the bike recently and I’m going over it to make sure it’s fit to tour Europe in the Summer (if we’re allowed).

Wow, that’s a beast, I’ve loved those since the 70s. My VFR800 is currently on charge waiting for an excuse to go out. I would pick up the Haynes but don’t want to ‘fix’ something that ain’t broken

Decided to revive this thread as I’m easing my way back into reading, sort of.

I loved to read as a kid and up until about 15 years ago I always had a book close by. I think changes in my life took away the time to just sit and read.

So I’m easing in with an audible subscription, started with ‘Where the crawdads sing’ loved that. I’ve listened to a few that were ok but not ones I would want to revisit. I get Alexa to play my audio book when I’m cleaning or cooking or if I’m indecisive about music to play on a walk. It makes it really easy to get engrossed in a story
I finished Verity by Colleen Hooper today, I loved it, didn’t expect the ending at all. I gave myself a few hours to shake off the end of book grief and then started The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose.
I’d like some recommendations, I’m not sure about keeping the subscription going, after the few months deal I’m on finishes but I might go back to the traditional paper book or kindle, we’ll see.

Whats everyone reading and whats next on your to be read list?

Been trying to get myself back into reading something that’s not a research journal for uni :joy:

Recently picked up a near perfect condition, first edition hardcover of Hannibal by Thomas Harris in a second hand store for about $6AUD  Published in 1999, same year I was born!

Been reading that as well as some Jeffery Deaver, whose writing style I absolutely love! Next in line is Garden of Beasts.

Read Biblical by Rob Halford the singer of Judas Priest yesterday. Very funny and interesting, especially his little side-notes and the Yam Yam references!

An interesting mixture of very specific technical books (WW2 fighter aircraft engine development) and pornography on my Kindle before I go to sleep.

I only watched a bit of the first - I hated it! :see_no_evil:
I think because I love the books (though barely started the latest) but had such a clear picture in my mind of how my Strike and Robin were and the TV series didn’t match it and so my brain just refused to buy into it.

I had the same problem with The Hobbit film. The Lord of the Rings films I loved because although I had read the books it was decades before seeing the films and I’d forgotten most of it. The Hobbit, I’d reread not long before the film came out and all the missed out stuff and changes drove me mad .
