Hello everyone, finally posting for the first time after months of browsing here :)
We watched The Story Of O: Untold Pleasures a few nights ago, and it was okay but we both want to watch more films with a similar BDSM theme while avoiding outright porn. We trawled through Amazon but didn't really know where to start so now we are asking here instead :)
Can anyone recommend any good films involving BDSM that aren't porn? We are happy to watch foreign language films as well and we want graphic-ness but just with more plot.
We were hoping for full-length films rather than clips and with BDSM being incorporated into the plot rather than being the be-all-and-end-all of the film. We prefer bondage and restraint to the spanking and whipping, but anything is good.
We watched the American version of The Story Of O and we found it pretty good, but apparently if you have read the actual book (which we haven't) it isn't so good.
There's a few I've seen, as well as a few on my 'to watch' list, so can't comment on how good or not they actually are, but they seem to be in the same vein, as the O-style not-quite-porn-but-erotic is something I'm always keen to see more of.

Again, not sure how many will appeal to you (or are even any good!), but it's a good starting point to at least look through them. Even if none appeal to you, but the theme seems roughly right, it's worth looking to see what other work those directors/writers did, as they might be more in keeping, and six degrees of Kevin Bacon later you could find a good 'un! ^_^
