Hi everyone,
I am a butt plug beginner and have recently started using the lovehoney beginner's butt plug (http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=33939). I really like the sensation of it and would like to get some more. However, I am finding it a little difficult for the plug to stay put, it works when I'm sitting/lying on it but it won't stay when I'm playing with my partner. I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for better plugs to use/techniques to try etc.

just curious, how much lube do you use?
i have found in the past that they tend to slip easier if you use a little too much
It's all in the shape, go for something with a narrow neck and it should stay put.
I wouldn't recommend jumping from the one you linked to this, but in terms of the shape, it's bang on :)

Actually I think you would be fine with the one above people tend to way underestimate what they can handle and yes it's all about the shape to start with so go and experiment and enjoy

You're better with a more bulbous shape plug which has a thin neck and a good base. The more tapered plugs although easier to insert don't stay put very well. You may fine a bulbous one takes a bit of time to get used too but if you take it slowly and relax you'll be fine x
thanks guys! I'll try finding one that has a better shape for staying put. would you recommend going for a glass one even as a beginner?
Glass does feel nice, but I would say that the two most important things are the widest point to neck ratio and the shape of the flared base. Many years ago I bought a glass plug (from another site... it was before I discovered Lovehoney) and it looked lovely and felt great initially. Then I put it in for a 1 hour drive and discovered after being stuck in traffic for 2 hours that it was REALLY uncomfortable for longer term wear.
My all-time favourite plug is my njoy one (http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/brands/njoy/), but they are quite expensive.

That Doc Johnson one i own and for a medium it's well big. I love anal and regularly use butt plugs and even I find it uncomfortable after a little while. I couldn't have taken that as a newbie to anal. I liked the Icicles 48 Flower base plug as a starter but it's all down to personal preference.
