Erotica Fair 2011 in London, anyone been there in the years before?

I have been toying for years to take myself and maybe hubby to the Erotica fair.

I dont know what to expect. I dont think anyone would look at me strange as only those interested would go.

Has anyone been there and what to expect?

I would be more interested to go to see the toys, to touch them, their sizes and see the way they look etc.

But only one or two companies seem to be there doing toys this year, the rest is mostly clothes and other random stuff.

I used to be a gold member, went to the olympia one every year until about 3 years ago.

Imagine a makeshift shopping mall where all they sell is stuff to do with sex, bdsm, kink, fetish and erotica. In the middle is a stage where during the day they will have choreographed shows that show off some of the products (and the amazing kink from Torture Garden). Lots and lots of box shifters along with some amazing art, clothing and custom made furniture.

The people are a mix of vanilla's and kinksters. You won't look out of place however you dress, though you will get some odd looks on the train if you go in full scene attire.

It's nice and non-threatening, lots of places to stop and eat/drink and peoplewatch or meet new friends.

I'd recommend

Hmmmm sounds good. Do you think my "vanilla" flavoured hubby would go there. Stupid question to ask, as you do not know him, but he hates anything off the chart sexual if you get my meaning.

I think I might just drag him there or just go on my own to see what it is like and maybe take him next year once I know what to expect.

None of my friends would go as they all are too stiff conservative. If they knew I was interested to go there they think I had a lobotomy or something.

Id definitely recomend it, as Choccy said its a huge mix of every type of person and kink, the shows are great too.

You get to see everything in the flesh plus your fave porn stars; you can see most the major toy companies and maybe some new ones. I agree of your going to dress up which would be great dont arrive on the train lol.

You definitely wont look out of place in full bondage and latex gear; you can rela and chat to like-minded people. Its not sleazy ;its quite ok to go from a womans point of view; id definitely recomend it.

I dont have any funky clothes. I would just go in jeans or leather boots and skirt and some regular top depending on the weather.

No one would know where I am heading to until I stand in front of the entrance.

From the list I only saw one or two firms showing toys on their website. I was hoping Lovehoney would be there with a truck full of toys to look at.

Well obviously I don't know your OH so I have no idea if he would like to go! As long as he's an open minded vanilla (and not easily shocked) he should enjoy the exerience at least.

From a vanilla POV there are a lot of sex toys and porn vids, some of the art is truly amazing (but expensive) as is some of the furniture; I lusted after a custom bed that unfolded at the foot to form a St. Andrews at the foot of the bed and had concealed eyebolts for years LOL

You never know if he thinks kink is all leather and whips, some of the corsetry and gothicness of some of it might open his eyes ;)

Oh and you get given a bag with "Erotica" emblazoned on it when you enter so if people didn't know where you were going on the way there, they will on the way home :)

Hmmmm good point... will be taking my Backpack....

Ofc if you were really bothered you could probably turn the bags (canvass shopper type things) inside out. Might look a little strange, but would be less obvious.

We went last year and really enjoyed it though felt it was lacking in comparison to reports of previous years - maybe a little of that was a certain company missing! (Cough*LH*Cough)
