As normal, I ordered the largest size possible. And it doesn't even come close to doing up! I'm gutted - I wear dresses 18-20, and sure I'm rather broad across my shoulders from weight training but it's not my shoulders that are a problem!
Don't let this be a confidence knock! The problem is with the item, not your body.
Unfortunately, not every garment manages to meet the size it's supposed to be. The store I work in, my usual dress size fits me in most items, but every now and again, some items I have to go up two sizes!
Aww hunny. As a fuller figure girl myself I feel for you. Sometimes however it's maybe the garment and not you. How things are cut and so on can be a problem. We aren't all a particular shape even if the size goes up and down. We are all different but don't let some fabric get you down.
Anything fitted i have to go up 2, maybe 3 dress sizes. Makes having to buy shirts a nightmare as they expect a nipped in waist and larger chest, but to get the waist to fit i've got a tent with enough room for a full circus where my breasts should be. I'd be weary of anything shape wear like that was part lace anyway, it's not the most durable material, i think i get a maximum 10 wears out of lace banded bras before they're stiff and brittle and a finger goes right through making a massive hole when i'm putting it on, something that expensive i'd be scared of wearing it.
I am gutted for you and I hope you can find an alternative .
With my OH being curvey I know how frustrating it is when choosing clothes . I do however think things are slowly improving on this front but not fast enough according to my Mrs .
It's never a nice feeling when that happens but don't let it get to you for too long. If you feel like your back to square one, maybe do a spider diagram on a piece of paper with all different ideas and add to it over a few days - you never know when the 'one' will pop into your head.

mysteron, getting there slowly, but then sometimes there's a big jump! I think lovehoney expanded one of their ranges up a couple of sizes recently. DIdn't help me much, but it helped some!
Dunny&Smithy I might do some drawing and see what I can come up with, then see if I can buy something similar!
SlinkyRat, that would be perfect if it were a little bit longer. Or gets a bit floatier towards the bottom. I'm VERY paranoid!
I've been thinking, what if I found some of the same material, and made a pannel with a zip either side, so I could just insert this extra pannel between the current zip at the back?
Anyone with a bit more clothes making expertise know if this would be a good idea?

I recently wore something a simlar length to a Feitsh party and found a little lace tutu on the auction site. Maybe something like that would may a shorter item an option? x
I agree that it is always devastating and a crush to the self-esteem when something doesn't fit, you get angry and miserable at the same time! Don't be sad though hun, we all go through it and share your pain!

Update: I found some material today that matches the leathery type bits perfectly. But I had no idea it was so hard to find a matching zip - the one used on the corset is a heavy duty metal one.
Ordered one online, should be arriving Monday. If the zip fits, the pannel may work! If it doesn't, looks like I'll have to admit defeat and return it for something else, I do like this one http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=32008 and the tutu could work. Thank you all for your help so far!
