I know that we have been talking about the nature of what people write in posts and what people say to each other in chat but what about profiles?
A lot of people have things linked in their profiles that I would think break the rules. Do people here see that as a way of people expressing themselves or do you see it as something that goes beyond what the community is about?
Should people be allowed to link XXX pics of themselves or their cam channel even if hidden away in their profile?
Should this kind of thing be reported? And if so how as we can only report posts atm... Any ideas from the staff would be welcome
I think the rules could be slightly more lax purely where it asks for your favourite sites. I have a link to, for example, a shop on there (not a direct competitor, mind)... But you know, they asked for my favourite site, so...
I do agree that I find it slightly strange when people link their home porn vids and such though!
i don't know about this either, a lot of people ( myself included) have links to their blogs on their profiles and this comes under the whole umbrella term of "explicit content". Whatever is decided needs some careful thought.
A lot of people link to their sexy blogs, twitter, fetlife profiles or swinging heaven ads etc. As the Lovehoney forum doesn't accommodate those types of interaction, it is fine as long as it's clear that that is what is being linked to.
If someone is advertising or if they've hidden a video link under 'Cute fluffy kittens' or somesuch, that's not on.

ive reported a profile to alice that i felt was breaking the forum rules, its basically said they was here looking for women and couple to swap with and how to contact them. they never posted on the forums or had a review but did have 6 pics and how i came across this profile was cos they sent me a friend request...
i think profiles like that show the person real intetions for being here and so should be reported and imo be banned/have the profile deleted.

This was kind of my thinking. I've seen profiles for users that suggest that they are here only to advertise their cam sites or adult work. It's not competing business but these people aren't posting or reviewing.
I have a link to my swinging site and funnily got a random post of someone who doesn't use the forum but had seen my profile (creepy?) and was asking to meet.
felt a little invaded... may take it down actually.
as for links to naughty pics... erm... not seen that!
