He cant keep his erection

My boyfriend loves sex but really struggles to maintain an erection. What can i do/buy to help him?

I have no idea what are your approximate ages are , so that is important in troubleshooting . Generally for a good erection there are a number of things to look at . #1 is B/P , if he has high blood pressure that can sure have a negative effect . Physical condition can have quite an effect along with weight . Stress is a real contender also . I am "old" and that in itself usually makes a difference . Like I have told my wife for years if she was not happy with my performance . If an Olympic athlete practiced their sport twice a year , how would they do ? Practice makes perfect , practice , practice practice ! Some times performance anxiety can be a problem . As has been mentioned , any new meds ? Good luck !

Can I ask? Does alcohol have any part to play in your relationship? This can effect performance. Drugs of the non- prescription type can also hinder erection. As has been said stress is the most common but there have been reported cases of pornography addiction and masturbation which leaves the user unable to get aroused by PIV sex. Do any of the points I make apply to your man? Communication and understanding can help. You share the problem with him so you can help him overcome this temporary situation. All the best.

There may well be a physical problem underlying this issue.

I was having a similar problem and, following blood tests I was diagnosed with a very low testosterone level. I now use a testosterone supplement gel to correct this.

Unfortunately the inability to maintain an erection, although caused by a genuine physical problem, rapidly becomes a mental issue too and the pressure to 'perform' can actually cause the problem to become worse.

My doctor understood this and also prescribed Sildanafil (Viagra) alongside the hormone replacement. The Sildanafil took away the anxiety and my confidence slowly returned to the point where I now no longer need the Sildanafil (although I do still use it recreationally).

My advice, therefore, is to see the GP to see if there is a genuine medical condition causing the problem.

Personally, I tend to wane after a while. A practical short term remedy appears to be a cock ring. Obviously make sure there is no medical reason for the issues.
