I'm celebrating it by taking the afternoon off and visiting my friends who are on maternity leave. Not very political but I'll have a nice time and one of them has said she's been getting lonely while everyone is at work. It'd be really cool if both parents were entitled to 6 months paid leave to settle in a baby, 2 weeks paternity leave isn't nearly enough.
I badly wanted to take work off yesterday so my wife could participate in A Day Without Women demonstrations, but I wasn't able to. Best I managed was making dinner and running her a bath with a nice bath bomb. And surprising her with a toy she'd had her eye on...

Isn't that the truth! I think I ended up with something like 10 days paid leave with each of my kids. I'm so envious of my friends in other countries who get months off. Going back to work so soon was agonizing. I can't imagine how much harder it is on new mothers who have to go back to work before they've really recovered.
This year I'm handing in my letter of resignation.
And hoping for the best.
