New to LH, questions about cock rings

Hi guys and gals I am new to LH and I think my first purchase is probably going to be a cock ring of some sort, I was just unsure of what type to get and what the pros and cons are to each type. Any help is appreciated!

Hi and welcome. This may be helpful to you. http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/cock-rings/buyers-guide/better-sex-toys-couples/

As you obviously already noticed, there is a bewildering choice of rings out there!. I can't say anything about the very stretchy vibrating sort as vibrators are just not our thing but plain non-vibrating rings are, in my opinion, a much under-rated device. If you have never used one you will probably be amazed at the amount by which one can increase the hardness of your erection. As a starting point for this type of ring I can recommend:-

I wrote a review of them a little while ago and the size range and the modest elasticity mean you can try out using one either in front or behind the balls. I found they were way more comfortable than the thinner section ones.

I would not suggest buying metal ones as a start as the way normally suggested to measure for a ring is only very approximate at best and you will get a much better idea of the size of metal ring that would be right from experience with other types of rings.

For a continuously adjustable ring one of these is good:-

It is a lot easier to get on behind the balls than the fixed size rings.

^^ agreed. A good starting point.

Do not start with a rigid metal ring. You need to learn your limits, what feels good and what doesn't. In that regards you need to be able to get it off if it's too tight, so start flexible.

Rings are typically worn either around the shaft or around the shaft and balls, resting behind your sack on the erectile tissue deep in your body. My personal preference is the cock+ball ones, it provides a really nice gentle massaging motion as you move about an builds into explosive orgasms for me.

The outright best basic ring ou there is the tantus silicone ring. It's tight enough to go on the shaft, it's stretchy enough to go around both and flexible enough to get off if it needs to be.

Not sure I agree about not using a hard ring as a starter, we switched to metal quickly and I found them a lot more effective.

We started with ...

as already suggested which can be tightened to suit and that way you can see if you like the idea before spending a bit more on something solid.

I would agree that a metal (or at least a non-stretchable) ring is best for giving little or no constriction when flaccid and maximum constriction when erect. However, the sizing seems critical to me with the usual 5mm, 6mm or 1/4 inch step in inside diameter between sizes being far too big to get the perfect fit. Also, I think a rigid circular ring is not the ideal shape as it does not bear down harder on the top of the cock (where the veins that need to be constricted are located) than anywhere else. Critically it constricts the urethra underneath just as much so by the time the ring is working well it's pretty hard to cum through.

There are metal horse-shoe types which have a gap in the underside bounded by two balls and they look better from this point of view but these could do with an extra ball in the middle to bear down more on the dorsal veins. There is only one type that resembles this and reviews seem to suggest they are not very well made.

For sure, cheap thin jelly rings are crap. However, a thick firm silicone is just as effective as a metal ring for me, infact it's more effective. It's also about safety, fundamentally speaking if you need to get a metal ring off you often can't until soft, which is potentially dangerous. In addition metal rings only work well if you're close to the shape of the ring, many guys are more oval than circular which a flexible ring doesn't have issues with.

In general, I think people just haven't tried a quality silicone ring. The tantus c ring I mentioned is outright the best, most comfortable and effective I've ever used, that includes plenty of properly fitting metal rings.

Thanks for the help so far guys, just a couple more questions, what is the best way to wear it? round the shaft or round the balls? At the minute I am thinking of either of these two choices.

Which would you guys reccomend?

http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=24516 a million times over this honestly. Those LH rings are nice, but they're quite thin which can feel vaguely pinchy.

As for cock vs cock+balls, I'm a huge fan of around both, the feeling I get from it resting against the erectile tissue further in my body is pretty amazing.

Ah ok, thanks for the help! Still need some thinking over! Way too many choices! May just have to buy a couple and see what I prefer as they are not too expensive

I'm likewise a great fan of the behind the balls positioning. It does project your balls further forward so your OH may feel like she is involved in a slightly one-sided micro pillow fight 8-)=

Pegguin could well be right about the Tantus ring. The LH set are all 9mm dia cross-section while the Tantus ring is 1/2 inch wide and my out-and-out favourite ring at the moment is silicone,  40mm ID with a 18 x 9mm oval cross section so quite similar to the Tantus but slightly bigger ID and even wider. This is even more comfortable than the LH set I mentioned.

One other thing - if when wearing a ring behind the balls and you have a stiffy you would like to be done with (with a ring they can be somewhat too persistent believe it or not!) simply pull the top of the ring firmly upwards revealing the pressure on the top of your cock and it will go down.

I just got the traceycox supersex lovering and me and my man not impressed, I will have to have a look at what other 1s be better, any suggestions?

What didn't you like about it? That might help people to make suggestions tailored to what you are wanting x

I was blessed with this as a tester it's amazing, pricey but if you can manage to get it on a deal/ offer you'll be laughing

I bought my O. H his first cock rings last week. Just started with a basic set of three cheap jelly type rings as I wasn't sure of his reaction. He loved them! - the next day I bought the 50 shades vibrating cock ring for him... I swear he now thinks he's a porn star! He's up for it three times a night. I think we'll be now starting a new collection!
