Love Labs Advanced Twin Ridge Glass Butt Plug

Satisfying glass butt plug hits the spot

As a fairly experienced user of anal toys, and a particular fan of butt plugs this has to now be one of my favourite butt plugs. Although I have many anal sex toys, and butt plugs, this is both my first glass anal toy and my first glass butt plug, I very much doubt it will be my last.

I have for some time been after a larger diameter butt plug, but one which doesn’t have too huge an insertable length; I find those with higher insertable lengths can’t be worn for prolonged periods. At 1.9 inch diameter, and with a 5.25 insertable length, this turns out to be the absolute perfect size for me. It is larger than many of my plugs, but slightly smaller than my largest I regularly use. However, due to the material, it feels larger than similar sized butt plugs with the same diameter as it has no give in the material.

Delivery excellent as always from Lovehoney, well packed as usual too. I purchased this as part of the buy three toys for £50 special offer, and so had free delivery; ordering it on the Wednesday and selecting Friday before 1 PM, it arrived early Friday. In this order I had one other butt plug (not glass), two glass dildos, and a set of anal beads. I have used this plug on the Friday once it arrived, and on Saturday and Sunday before completing this review, hopefully giving me a good idea of the plug over several uses and prolonged sessions as well as shorter periods of use. As it took me a while to put the review up, I have probably used this additionally many dozens more times, so have a pretty good sense of what the toy is like.

The actual packaging of the plug is very good on this toy, not in the slightest bit cheap or nasty looking; inside the box, the plug sits in a polystyrene shaped section, behind which is the very nice bag for keeping the plug in.

However, as nice as the storage bag is, I feel I have found a better place where this will sit quite nicely!

The plug itself is absolutely gorgeous to look at, the feel is fabulous, just running your hand over the cold smooth glass, feeling the two enticing bulbous ridges, with the well sized and spaced necks of the plug. The base is wide to avoid an embarrassing trip to A&E;, but not so large as to be uncomfortable whilst wearing the plug. As it is glass the plug has a lovely weighty feel to it; both whilst it’s in your hand, and this sensation of weight doesn’t get lost when the plug is nicely seated in the position which it so desperately needs to be in.

In design the first bulbous section, at the insertion point of the plug, is almost ‘teardrop’ shaped; giving a small diameter start to inserting the plug, which really makes insertion very easy for the first bulbous section. Following the first bulbous section is a neck, and inserting just the first section this already sits comfortably and stable, with the neck holding it in place. The second, and larger bulbous section is followed by a similar slimmer neck section immediately before the base, and again this makes the plug sit securely in position once fully inserted.

As the plug is glass little lube is required, but I’d still recommend using some lube, to aid insertion; as the plug is totally solid, there is no give whilst inserting it, and a little pain may be experienced whilst inserting the plug unless lube is used.

However, I did find that the plug could be inserted with no pain without using any lube; on one session of wearing the plug, I had worn it for about an hour and a half, but needed to remove it as the urge ‘to go’ was too great. Having removed and cleaned the plug, I had not planned to re-insert it, but changed my mind. It was warmer at this point (having washed it in hot water and liquid soap), and I attempted to insert it with no lube. This was easier, even with no lube than when I first had inserted it; I expect that having worn it for a while the muscle was stretched somewhat and so insertion was made easier even without lube. I expect (and since have found out), that if I work up to this plug, by first wearing a smaller plug then again no lube is required. As it is glass there is little friction (both on insertion and removal of the plug).

Due to the design, you can slide the first bulbous ridge in with relative ease, and you relax around the narrower neck which is between the two ridges/bulbs. The second bulb/ridge may take a bit more effort to get in, both as it is larger in diameter and also as more of the plug’s length is inserted, but again you find the narrower neck after the second bulb before the flared base of the plug.

This plug doesn’t seem to suffer from too much slippage whilst you wear it, there isn’t (despite its weight and size), any great feeling that it is about to pop out at any moment; even when walking about the house and wearing it, it seems to sit snugly inside.

This is one of the few plugs where I get a real sense of that ‘popping’ in sensation, most especially with the second ridge/bulb.

Good news!: the same popping sensation occurs on removal; It is quite possible to insert, remove and repeat this again and again to get really quite worked up!

My god, once inserted, you feel the weight; you feel the rigidity of a solid glass plug, and you feel the temperature of the plug, and the weight, did I mention the weight? For me at least I can feel this pushing onto my prostate gland, and unlike many plugs made of more malleable material, you don’t loose the sense of being full after you’ve been wearing it a while, as you just retain the fabulous sensations of having something so firm, large and heavy sitting in that glorious hole and stimulating you at every movement or just whilst sitting down.

Did I mention how the plug is nice and heavy? Well it is. Being both large and heavy, you don’t for a moment forget this is inside you, and walking about with it in you really appreciate its weight and size. Oh, and its weight, did I mention about its weight?

Do I sound a little over-excited writing this review? I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’ve got this lovely plug sitting inside me whilst I write!

If I wasn’t wriggling in my chair so much, making the plug wiggle about I’d probably be finding this typing a little easier. Did I mention how nice and heavy and large the plug is? Oh, I think I have. Well it is!

The hardness of glass, and the size of this plug probably make it unsuitable for novice anal toy users, but for intermediate to advanced I think you’d find it very satisfying. The first few times I used the plug, it became too great a sensation, because of its firmness, and closeness to the prostate gland, but over time I’ve been able to wear it for longer and longer periods.

As the plug is glass, another major benefit compared to most other butt plugs, is that it is an absolute breeze to keep clean, just don’t drop it on the bathroom tiles!

Fun Factory Booty Butt Plug

Butt Plug Perfection

I’ve been looking forward to writing this review.

Every now and again a toy comes along that feels like it was designed for you personally. This is one of those. This was my first butt plug and it’s still my favourite.

To start with, the material is fantastic. It’s made of 100% silicone and is completely phthalate free, which is important because you really don’t want to risk using anything that might irritate your skin. On top of that, the silicone used by Fun Factory is very pliable. It’s not solid like the LELO Bob, for example. You can squeeze it in your hand and it gives a little. For me, this is how silicone should be. If I wanted a hard toy, I’d use something made from glass or wood.

The next, and possibly the best feature of this toy, is the base. I mentioned, in an earlier review, that some toys suffer from ‘plug twist’. This is not an issue for the Bootie. The base is long, it’s curved and, because of the pliable silicone, moulds perfectly to your body and prevents any twisting or turning. It also feels great delicately touching your skin. It’s not designed to apply pressure from the base, like some toys, but you know it’s there, which is nice. I honestly have no idea why every single butt plug isn’t designed with a base like this.

The last thing I’ll rave about is the shape. It’s nicely curved so provides you with different sensations depending on which way it’s pointed. If you have a prostate then inserting it so it points at your stomach is very pleasurable. Lots of prostate toys are long in length, but the prostate is actually only a couple of inches or so inside, so I can’t imagine many people needing anything with a much greater length. I’ve found this toy to be just about perfect.

The most comfortable position is with the Bootie pointing towards your back, however. Inserted this way, it’s easy to keep in for hours at a time (providing you keep it well lubed). I’ve worn it all day before and it’s as comfortable after 8 hours as it is when you slip it in. If you do intend to use a toy for long term use though, I’d recommend relubing every half an hour or so, just to be on the safe side. Water based lubricants are best for silicone toys, so pick your favourite.

This is something of a long term review. I’ve had my Fun Factory Bootie for over a couple of years now and it’s still the toy I use the most. Because of its small size, it’s extremely convenient to carry around. I always carry at least one toy with me in my briefcase at work and it’s this toy that’s in there 90% of the time.

How do you like your eggs in the morning?

My partner and I have been together for over 4 years now and while he is aware that I hold an interest in sex toys and, in particular, the Lovehoney website, he has never been very keen on the idea. However, this was when we were living in our old flat and it had numerous problems including mould appearing on just about everything, so I doubt that is a fault with the toy itself.

I have recently bought a new TENGA Egg, this time it is the Twister, to replace the Wavy. I’m just waiting for the right time to introduce him to it.

He has become a lot less critical of my own sex toy collection and our relationship definitely improved after buying the TENGA Egg. I still haven’t managed to have him take the step to using my own sex toys on me in bed, but I am working on it slowly. I’m certainly looking forward to trying out this Twister on him next though. I’m sure it will go a lot more smoothly than the Waver!

Overall, I am very glad I overcame my initial worries/shyness and purchased the toy. It provides me with a very intense masturbation experience and helps me discover new sensations. The toy surpasses my expectations, yet fits very well with the mindset I had prior to buying (about being a virgin). It’s a great toy that I would definitely recommend! After having this product in my wishlist for sometime I was rather anticipating the arrival of this toy.

Unfortunately for me I was let down because at the 1st insertable bulb is a sharp edge that caused me a fair bit of pain, but worst of all a small amount of bleeding. From this one very short trial I have decided I wont use this toy again in the sense I was hoping for and am unable to recommended it due to the sharp edge. On the other hand apart from that one BIG problem I will go on to explain the merits this toy does have.

Usually I tend to go for toys with a bit of girth but this toy was thin and is suitable for beginners due to this.

The vibrations are more than I was expecting from a device powered by 2AAA’s which is a plus, especially as the vibrating part of the toy is inside the first bulb, good for those who like vibrations internally.

The suction cup is quite strong and definitely would stay stuck to objects.

Overall the only use this will get out of me from now is to warm up if needed as the small girth and good vibrations really help to relax the sphincter muscles before moving onto bigger toys, however like I said before even full insertion of the first bulb is an experience I am not willing to have again.

Such a shame that ONE design flaw that should clearly have been realised (sharp edges and sex toys don’t mix) ruins what would otherwise have been an excellent toy and on that I would have throughly recommended.

Lovehoney Powerful Pocket Vibrator

One of my favourites!

It’s almost impossible not to like this vibrator. When I bought it I was still relatively new to the world of sex toys, and this thing just blew my mind.

In appearance it’s pretty unassuming, small and pink. It’s got quite a nice weighty feel to it, and certainly isn’t “tacky” feeling or anything. The fact that it uses AA batteries is a definite plus as it means not trawling the supermarkets for expensive N batteries.

Here are my top three reasons why you should try it!

1. It’s small. I carry it around in my bag all the time, which is so useful as I travel a lot. It’s never given me any trouble in there or “gone off” in public or anything!

2. It’s powerful. Really, it’s amazing for the size it is! With other vibrators I might take four or five minutes to orgasm but with this Rocket, it often happens in under a minute.

3. It’s cheap - even I have to admit it’s fantastic value for money, and I’m usually a terrible cheapskate!

Now for the nitty gritty stuff:

1. It only comes in one colour, so if you’re not a fan of pink, it might not be to your taste. Having said that, it’s a very cute shade of pink and not unattractive.

2. It’s quite a high, “buzzy” vibration; if you prefer a more “rumbling” sensation, I suggest you try the Rocket’s older sister, the Erotic Rocket 2.0.

3. When it came around to changing the batteries, the connection in the battery compartment snapped! However, Lovehoney’s customer service being what it is, they replaced it the very next day for free, so I can’t complain!

All things considered, this is a fantastic product whether you’re new to vibrators or if you’ve been using them for years. Having been disappointed with weak bullet vibrators before, I can definitely recommend this as a powerful, portable alternative. Go for it!

Durex Play O Female Orgasm Gel

I didn’t believe that it would work – but it did!

I bought this gel for my wife on the strength of a recommendation in the Lovehoney community forums. I must admit that we were very sceptical that it would have any effect, and when we saw the small bottle of clear fluid that we had received for our purchase, we wondered whether we had wasted our money. First, it’s only necessary to use a tiny amount of the gel each time. The instructions refer to “a small pea” but my wife and I found that a smaller amount than this is perfectly adequate, as long as it is applied to the right area. So, the seemingly small bottle is likely to go a long way.

I didn’t think it’d work!

I’ve not had kids and I do my Kegel exercises every day so I didn’t really buy it with the intention of getting a tighter vagina. In fact, when I ordered this product, it was more out of curiosity and reading some of the reviews. I’m so glad I did!

Firstly, LH’s deal with the Post Office Devil ensured I got my parcel the day after posting, I’ve come to expect nothing less from them. So, to the cream itself. I don’t know about you but I have a habit of sniffing anything I buy, weird but in the case of ‘sex’ products it’s a very useful habit! I thought the smell was quite pleasant, reminding me of lemon Pledge furniture polish, although hubby said it reminded him of Deep Heat. Perhaps they both have the same active ingredients. Don’t taste it!! It tastes horrible which is no good for oral sex.

I have to say I’m a little wary of this kind of product as I’m unsure if it works by irritating the very delicate areas and causing temporary inflammation. We’ve used warming lubes with no problem and because we’re still unsure how it works we used it carefully just in case.

The cream itself is fairly liquid and, as other reviewers have mentioned, it needs applying quickly before it makes a dash for it under it’s own momentum.

As we’d never used it before Hubby only squeezed out a small finger nail size dab and quickly applied it both externally and internally. A little goes a long way and in no time I was beginning to feel an increasing warming sensation. It says on the tube that it takes 3-5 mins, well, it didn’t take me that long to start feeling the benefits I can tell you. The warmth spreads and sensitivity seems increased. Hubby started to rub himself on me with the intention of teasing me, what he didn’t bargain for was that the cream started to affect him. He felt the warming and it also increased his sensitivity. This was my first experience with a ‘realistic’ stroker, and I wasn’t disappointed. Liquid Silk Lube

Fantastic stuff

I tried Durex lubes before Liquid Silk, but found them to be a bit sticky and they left residue behind. I thought I’d try a new one, and having read the Liquid Silk reviews got a 50ml bottle to try. That was nearly three years ago, and I haven’t bought a different brand since!

Liquid Silk is odourless (which is a blessing; I don’t like scented/flavoured lubes) and mostly flavourless. The taste in large amounts isn’t great - but then it’s not a lube intended for that sort of use. I love how inconspicuous the bottles are (my partner’s mother thought it was a travel shampoo bottle!) and even in the 250ml size I have no qualms about keeping it on my bedside table. Zeus Electro Sex Penis Bands

Shockingly good

I was a bit unsure whether to buy this or not. I had never experienced any electro sex toys, and you have to buy the Zeus Deluxe Electro Sex Digital Power Box to use this - so it’s not exactly a cheap toy. Curiosity got the better of me, though!

I don’t want to spend too much time talking about the power box because it’s a different item. But it’s hard to describe what each different program on the box does - you literally have to experience it because they are so varied and give different sensations. A couple of the programs give sharp sensations which I personally don’t like, but all the other programs give amazing sensations with the penis bands. One of the settings makes it feel like your manhood has a vibrator on it, which doesn’t make me last long.

You can’t simply jump in at the deep end and go for the high intensity levels. I found that you have to build the levels up or it will feel painful rather than pleasurable. There is one physical reaction you should be aware of.
