We stick with the traffic light system. 
I know what you mean by it seeming vanilla but for us itās something easy to remember while in sub space. Safety is paramount as we all know and I donāt want the stress of trying to remember an obscure word. Thankfully I havenāt had to use red yet though

I sometimes like to use yellow as a warning to stop what they are doing and red is that I want to stop all together. If I want to use funny words itās cucumber for the warning and then itās banana for it to stop. It usually depends on who Iām with at the moment.

Our safe word is meatloaf aka Iāwould do anything for love but i wont do that not that either of us have used it yet because weāre both as stubborn as each other and both wait until the other one takes pity on the other before any if us yell āMEATLOAFā LOL
