SEXBOX.... Channel 4 does it again

Anyone seen this in the papers.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2429812/Couples-sex-studio-Mariellas-Frostrups-Channel-4-intended-reclaim-sex-pornography.html

I had an inkling this was coming ;-). I can't wait to see it!

I saw this today, I got an email not long ago asking me to be in the studio audience for the Tracy Cox programme but it's too far away :( Imm glad that channel 4 are doing this, but I'm unsure how the show with Tracy Cox will go, it sounds a bit mad! Haha!

Could this be a product placement opportunity for LH?

Looks worth a watch! i think ill be looking for more info on it too xx

This is a show about real couples having real sex. Finally, the British are going to talk about it!

I'm really glad it's happening. It's so different, and in terms of education I know I'd rather watch a show like this and learn about how real couples have sex than try to gather everything I know about it from staged, scripted adult films.

Porn is easily accessed by everyone and whilst it can be a great thing, it doesn't give viewers (especially teenagers) an accurate view of what sex with a partner should be. If young people watch this I think it'll be nothing but good :)

I'm excited to see what the sexperts say - let's face it we all want to know what other people are up to!

Awesome, I can't wait to see it =)

Ooo that looks good.. Look forward to watching it :)

Looking forward to watching this and seeing how they go about it. See, one thing I cannot stop thinking is, the couples that go onto a show like this, I guess, are exhibitionists, or certainly not shy about having sex in front of millions. But knowing they are being watched is surely going to create a lot of acting, or at the very least, putting on a show? Even from real couples. I mean, if any of us knew we were being watched by millions, wouldnt we put on more of an act? Make a little more noise, show off our skills by almost acting like they do in porn. I mean, it will be interesting to see if these couples really do have 'normal people' sex or if they 'porn it up' for the cameras, which would negate the whole idea of the show.

I mean...I cannot imagine a couple, the woman laying down quietly while he gives her oral for up to an hour in silence. Would that make good tv? hehe, but that is more 'real'

This is going to be interesting. I cannot wait to see how they do this. If they really do portray real real real sex then it will be such a breath of fresh air for people, especially younger people who, at the moment, only learn from porn and peers who learned from porn.

Ooo can't wait to watch! ;)

am i the only one wanting to know which poor bugger gets paid to thoroughly clean the box in between couples ? and how much they get paid to do so ?

never mind that.... imagine the smell of sex in that box afterwards

think id want a new box if i was going last lol.

A new television show will feature couples having sex in a sound-proofed box in a television studio with audience and then being interviewed about it afterwards.

Three couples, two straight and one gay, will take turns to step into the opaque box before being quizzed about what they got up to by host Mariella Frostrup and a panel of sex experts.

Makers of the show, called Sex Box, claim that the programme, which will air on Channel 4, is intended to 'reclaim sex from pornography'.

The first couple to use the 'sex box' for the pre-recorded, hour-long show, which will air on October 7, is 20-somethings Rachel and Dean. They will be followed by Matt and John, who are in a long-term relationship, and childhood sweethearts Lynette and Des.

The couples, whose time in the box will not be filmed, will speak to a panel including television sex expert Tracey Cox, relationship expert Dan Savage, and psychotherapist and author Phillip Hodson.

Cox said: 'The Box itself is a unique way to get peoples' attention and to recognise that sex is a normal part of all our lives and something we need to be talking about openly and honestly.'

The programme is part of a season called Campaign For Real Sex which begins on September 30 with a show called Porn On The Teenage Brain, an examination of pornography by former lads' mag editor Martin Daubney.

This made me chuckle

i don't understand why they have couples having sex in a box

I watched it last night.

I had a few issues, first off I really didn't like Phillip Hodson approach at all, he just made me feel very uncomfortable. At times I feel that Tracey seemed a bit trapped and as if she wanted to put more input in to the questions - although I understand that there was a time limit.

The presenter I wasn't keen on too, but then again she was told to ask certain questions.

On the plus side it was more interesting and real than a lot of TV sex related shows, however it also shows that the media has a long way to go to catch up on what people really should be educated on and asked when it comes to sex. But I guess it'll happen slowly.

I did not like Phillip Hodson at all! He just come across so arrogant and rude, and seemed to have the impression that because he's had a successful career, he knows what's going on inside someone's mind just by looking at them.

I thought Tracey needed a bigger input, and I loved how honest Dan Savage was.

Overall however, I think they did it tastefully, but at the same time, my sex life won't benefit from watching it, and I can't see it benefitting others either. I know it's supposed to be talking about sex more openly, but the partners partaking were so uncomfortable with all the questions, rightly so after just having sex, but it's not helping to talk about sex more openly if they're visably scared!

I thought it was quite a dissapointment unfortunately.

I'm glad you felt similar MrsMcX

Yes Dan seemed lovely.

At times I also felt that Hodson was dominating the show and preventing the other experts from voicing their opinion.
