So for the 1st time I wore shape wear & must admit I think it does make a difference.
I looked online & now have a waist clincher as Lovehoney don't sell anything specific for TV's or CD's & I was wondering if many others on here use shape wear & what are your experiences of it ?
Hi! I've been tightlacing with corsets for a few years now, and all I can say is "beware!". Shopping for waist cinchers and 'proper' corsetry is an absolute minefield. Tonnes of sellers are currently latching on to the corset trend by claiming their naff lingerie will act as tightlacing or waist training corsets.
If you're serious about buying waist-shaping undergarments, then there is no substitute for a custom made underbust (the one in my profile pic was made by a company called Orchid, and fits like a dream despite giving me an 8 inch reduction). However, these cost an arm and a leg!
I always recommend Orchard Corsets for first timers, since these are amazing value for money, are shaped so much more nicely than a lot of steel boned corsets in the same price range, and offer a range of different silhouettes. Even seasoned corset snobs have been known to use them for long term wear. My partner is a trans woman, and she's been training with a level 3 underbust for months in order to make her lower ribs a little more tapered.

Hi, this is not my thing, but some of my friends visit a shop in Nottingham that specialises in clothing for tv's and cd's. There is also a private "dressing session" available, to help with specific purchases or special occasions. It's not cheap!
i don't know if there is a similar place closer to you, I know Nottingham is a bit of a trek from the south coast.

I was obsessed with waist training for a while after I gave birth before, I loved how it made my shape look. Unfortunately though I then came across some articles discussing the possible dangers and I was put off. Yes I would love to have the perfect waist, but not at the risk of my health.
If you've read up on the risks though and they don't concern you, go for it.
Innocent-fun, sorry you were worried by the health risks! I'm a waist training enthusiast and a Biology grad with a big interest in human physiology, and I've never found any convincing evidence for corset health scares. Most scare stories come from Victorian doctors who hadn't discovered germ theory and also thought walking would make you blind...
I highly recommend watching a YouTube channel called Lucy's Corsetry. She's a corset wearer and researcher, and gives a lot of detailed advice and information about tightlacing and brand reviews.

As a transgender woman, I can assure you any corset would work fine for you, but there is an entire industry out there conning cross dressers etc. They may claim you need specialist made for men clothing, but they're selling snake oil by the gallon.
I was thinking this too. The ones on LH are definitely more the 'fashion' corset range, i.e. they wouldn't be suitable for tight lacing or waist training, but they do enchance your shape while wearing. Definitely look for the more purpose made corsets if you want to go down a serious waist training or tight lacing route but don't fall into the trap of believing you have to look for a specialist item unless you want to get a custom made/fitted corset.Raven93 wrote:
