Hi Just looking for a quick bit of advice; having read all the books on shibari and I can get my hands on I’m poised to order some soft cotton rope for shibari (sold as ‘magicians rope’... ha ha) and I’m really not sure if 6 or 8mm diameter is best. It’s for groundwork only; wrist/ankle/thigh/torso restraint and binding. My partner and I are both slim build. Thanks in advance!
Either will work fine. Personally I would go for the 6mm as I find it slightly easier to work with when doubled up. Your build makes no difference.
I agree the 6mm is suitable and works fine for us too.

Awesome thank you so much. And magicians rope - hollow braided cotton - is the right stuff, right? I only used nylon before, a long long time ago.
