I have been asked to give a sperm test (we are TTC) but it has to be taken to the hospital lab within 1 hour...
I live in the middle of nowhere, over an hour from the hospital...so, what do you reckon I should do - find a quiet car park near the hospital and hope I don't get caught?
It would be great if NHS provided a specialist Nurse service for this ;-)
I thought they had special rooms in the hospital with some mags and dvd's to ensure it's 'freshness'?
Not sure, but from what I've read I thought those rooms were for sperm donors rather than just your general bloke checking the little fellas are wriggling?
I would of thought there would be a room available, why not give the hospital a ring.
Book a hotel room, do the sample take it to hospital whilst you other half waits and gets ready, then treat her and yourself on your return? Much nicer idea than a room at the hospital and it gives ou and you OH a night away, even if it isnt that far away lol.

Maybe try to find a bathroom inside the hospital and wait until you're alone? Then you won't have to travel very far at all to deliver your sample. Morefuns suggestion would be a lot more glamorous though lol
Hi, I've just been through exactly the same. Ring the hospital they will have a room you can use (and no its not full of porn!). I was offerd two hospitals, one said just turn up, the other said if I needed a room they would allocate a time for me to use it.
Dont worry about it, they deal with this problem all the time. Good Luck.
I've done this too, the hospital I went to had a room and magazines, all hospitals should definitely provide rooms. Avoid consuming too much alcohol consumption beforehand, the first time I went was after a work christmas party and my count came out very low (think it was probably the sambucas). 2nd time I went I got an A grade for my sperm.

Thanks for the replies - just a quick update in case this is of use to other forum users, the info leaflet says there are facilities on site...however, the hospital says these were closed down last year, but they do have public toilets.... put yourself in the position of a member of the public using the toilets maybe with a kid... or someone having to use the cubicle afterwards.... There is a church nearby and a library - at least they'd be empty ;-)
Not all hospital toilets are multi cubicle. Perhaps make a quiet recycle beforehand.
When I had to do this it was in areally comfy room with sofa, coffee table and stacks of porn. There was also a tv, and one of the videos was Kylie Minogue Live in Paris, which made me chuckle.

That sounds great! Maybe I'd get that if I went private!
My other half had tests he got told they would b rooms avail there wasn't for those test he had to use a tiolet near by. He wasn't happy lol

Yes, same thing here. Found a hospital toilet off a main corridor and tried to get it over with as quickly and quitely as possible (thankfully they have completely self contained individual toilets). Not a great setting with a sharps box sanitary box and the thought of generally unwell people having been in there previously... No Kylie video!
