The Great Hump Day Quiz!
🎉 🐪

Welcome to the first Great Hump Day Quiz of the year! :tada: All newcomers are most welcome :slightly_smiling_face: Check out the rules, pop your answers in a post, and I’ll add you to the Scoreboard. :+1:

Where do the questions come from?

I found a mysterious old box of trivial pursuit, with even more trivial pursuits stuffed inside. It is a treasure trove of quiz questions, and all of them really old. :slightly_smiling_face: Perfect fodder for a Hump Day special. :+1:

Piecing together a few bits and bobs, there were three sets, and a couple of the instructions. One is a Genus Edition, dated 2001, and the other the 20th Anniversary one, 2004. There’s also another old style board and questions in there that looks/smells quite a bit older. That’s the box they’re all stuffed in, and that has ©1983 printed on it. No instructions, so not sure if that’s accurate. That one says it’s a Master Game Genus Edition.

So, there you go. It’s a bit random, but it should add to the fun. :slightly_smiling_face:

  4. Hmm, odd question… there are 4 riders on each team but each rider normally has a different horse per 7 minute chukka and there are between 4 and 6 chukkas per match and normally each rider would have a couple of spare horses too in case of any injuries so um, somewhere between 4 in very low key match and 32ish in a full polo match horses per team. Don’t know if there’s a maximum number of horses per team so possibly more?
  5. Um, body?

…I feel I’m going to be disputing the card’s answer to :orange_heart: 4 whatever it says! :joy:

Woohoo!!! Thanks all.

My first win :tada:

Not sure whether I’m ashamed or proud that by far my best Sport round is when the questions are on backgammon, archery, polo and wine!:rofl: Should have got Wimbledon, did consider it but thought it was older. Still dispute 4 horses per Polo team though… no way the same horse would be used for all chukkas in a proper match!

Is that really your first win? You should probably have had more prizes. :slightly_smiling_face:

Interesting about the :coconut: coconut water. It was published in The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Vol18, Iss1, Jan 2000, Pg108-111 “We report the successful use of coconut water as a short-term intravenous hydration fluid for a Solomon Island patient, a laboratory analysis of the local coconuts, and a review of previously documented intravenous coconut use.” :coconut:

“Stop messin’ about” i read that with the voice of Kenneth Williams in my head!

…thought you might! He was the master of polari, pig latin and double entendres, and back then when I originally watched the carry ons, it all went over my head! I watched Fantabulosa! about Kenneth Williams over Christmas, its still on BBC iplayer if anyone hasn’t seen it, I found it enjoyable, very interesting and poignant.
