I’ll be working a 10 hour shift, so will make up for it the next day. Have already squirelled away a few items. I agree it’s very commercialised, but it’s nice to make an effort.

I always liked to throw a movie night with friends and make it fun in other ways while ignoring the day. I always found as a singleton valentines made me feel really rubbish and when not single it felt like a load of pressure and bullsh*t, so throwing a party and having partnered and single friends alike round made it feel fun and nice instead.
Won’t be happening this year though :joy: and a virtual one doesn’t have quite the same feel!

Got my personalised card need to think of a unique fun surprising gift now to go with it.

I like the card thing but it’s got a bit OTT I mean some of the “gifts” out there ???

Seriously

I like valentines day because I see it as an excuse to be lovey dovey and I like being romantic. I spent too long in a crappy relationship being ignored and miserable which I fortunately left and I’m very happy now so I think make the most of it!

It’s also my partners birthday in the same week so it’s a double lockdown celebration. I am stumped for ideas though, cooking a meal sounds boring as I do that every day, I can’t think of anything special enough. :thinking:

Lockdown will make us have to use our imaginations this year, but speaking from a male perspective, maybe learn how to cook something and do a nice romantic table setting? Certain high st stores will he doing special “Dine In” meal deals so even the most useless male can cook something! Not being able to go out, just be there and be attentive?

Pretty much always single and alone on valentines day. When ive had a partner i have made effort most days of the year.
My birthday a week after valentines day which is usually another crappy day :frowning:

We don’t bother at all. Never have. I feel that if you have to be told there is a day for this stuff, then it has no real meaning.

Everyday is valentines day for us but we usually use valentines day as an excuse to buy a cheeky card (me), overly emotional card (him) and cook a nice meal together!

That’s horrible @LilMissJ93 :hugs::hugs::hugs:

We normally low key celebrate. Decided not to this year. Will cook something nice for both my boys and watch a film.

Normally low key for us. A bunch of flowers and a nice meal. Perhaps a bit of Netflix and chill

I’ve done the same as every year - been shopping on here in advance! Some years it’s ended up with the shopping being used, others not. Some years it’s clashed with work (not an issue this year with lockdown of course!) and others we’ve had a free evening. A few years ago we tried a clone-a-willy with pretty disastrous results (not enough stuff to make a life size replica so ended up being a ‘mini-me’) and this year I’ve bought another kit with an extra tub. She doesn’t know yet so hoping the surprise will be a good one. :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers:

Yeah I normally do something nice like a going out for a nice meal or I cook something special.

But this year will be different with the lockdown so we bought a few sex toys for a special night of fun :star_struck:.

Quick suggestion, if your from the north and you have dined in Almost famous (Burger place). You can buy the recipes and they’ll send you the ingredients to make it.
