Valentines Day!

With Valentine's day fast approaching I was wondering if anybody here on LH will be celebrating it and if so, what (if any) ideas you may have for celebrating it apart from the same old 'romantic meal/night in' etc....... stuff?

I am already planning on a meal and evening in, but would like some ideas as to what to do throughout the day. It is also my OH's birthday a couple days after and I was going to team it up with that too during the week end as money's tight at the moment being a five week month until pay day.

Any cheap-ish/free ideas?

i'm single so personal im not doing much really. might get a bottle of wine in and have a nice bath or something.

free ideas could be a walk in the park, you could make your own card which is more thoughtful and cheaper, if you have the things in you could bake shortbread into heart shaped cookies as a little gift, giving a massage, or writing your own "sexy cheques" could be a possibility. a bath or shower together might be fun too. hand written love notes sprayed with your perfume and slipped into his breifcase/ lunchbox if he has to go to work. my mother always used to cut my dad's sandwiches into love heart shapes on valentines day using a cookie cutter.

Thank you for your ideas sweetlove666, they are really good ones. I suggested a walk to a park local to us with a picnic and on the way back, feed the ducks in the near by pond. I am cooking a meal and making him a birthday cake too.

I hope you enjoy and have a fantastic valentines day anyway even though you say you are single. There's nothing like a bit of slef indulgence! I miss it if I'm honest.

We usually spend a day together - get up late, share a bath, have sensual sex on the floor of the bedroom, cook and eat lunch together, more sex and then dinner and a film or something with snacks and blowjobs. This year we've treated ourselves to the philips massager and candles so we'll be using those and the lelo candle I won probably! Plus my collar hopefully.

Then a few days before or after we'll go out for a meal or this year we're thinking of going to the pictures but we never go out on the actual day - can't think of anything worse!

All of the above is free obvs - even the cinema because I got a giftcard for xmas.

For his birthday I'm spending a fair bit - Liverpool game, burlesque show, cocktails and a meal but he's not having many pressies.

You could see if there are any comedy clubs by you? Some do a cheaper midweek night with less well estabilished comedians!

we will be at tai chi till 4.30 pm so followed up witha nice fish and chip supper maybe a film afterwards and home for a bit of hanky panky hopefully..but must start the day with flowers and a card and maybe a breakfast snog too and must remeber to put the bubbly in the fridge for later on

and that will probally cost 40 squids well spent i'd say

i'm not sad at all about it to be honest. I do think that it's blatant commercialisim personally but everyone has the right to celebrate how they want.

if I were in a relationship i'd probably tend to go for things that are cheap/free anyway.

febuary is so horrible it's nice to brighten it up with a bit of fun..you all do xmas don't you?

*was joking

I've never really celebrated a Valentines day:/

Well im tight on money as well, so I know it sounds cheap but i have purchased really silly sex stuff for my other half! just in panic that he may not like it :S

I don't really do valentines day, but as its our anniversary in july and he is going to see iron maiden i expect a lovely valentines gift and to be spoiled rotten!

i'm going to cook him pasta bolognase and have sex....

thank god someone wants to have some fun

I hate it.

We went for a meal tonight (not instead of), I'd rather just do something together because we want to rather than be forced into some fantasy tradition... This does however come from a miserable sod who isn't going to raise his kids to the idea of Father Xmas.

everybody to his own i hope you celebrate birthday's

I'm sorting the Love Honey goodies, Mrs M's been buying dirty films. Not real porn, but things like 9 1/2 weeks. We got a stack of DVDs in the post today.

Nice dinner (I'll cook) and Mrs M will be freshly waxed, and we both have long overdue haircuts, so we'll feel nice, look nice and generally be at our sexy best!

I always used to hate Valentine's Day. Now it's just a good excuse to make an effort at a dreary time of year!

No idea what I'm going to do for her this year. Normally I try to get her a sex gift like some lingerie, but the way things are at the moment I don't think thats appropriate.

Anyone got any ideas for a "nice" valentines gift, instead of a sexy one?

We'll be taking a picnic and a flask of tea to our favourite place and cuddling up on the bench hopefully :-)

I think a nice valentines gift would be something you've made - some homemade chocolate truffles maybe? Fairly simple to do and delicious!

I'd be chuffed to bits if my man had made me these!

Other than that, maybe some well thought out pampering goodies - maybe her favourite scent, a special brand she likes, something to share like a massage candle?
