Me and my OH usually still have the TV on 
most of the time it just fades into the background but can be a distraction. I feel like the silence would be awkward for us and music (once you’ve decided what!) can be just as distracting 
But what about you? Have you got a go to playlist? Prefer the silence? Ambient music tracks?
We shag with no music or TV mostly. We’ve found that if the music has a rhythm, he gets dragged onto that rhythm. We don’t find the silence difficult, and when I’m shagging, I don’t hear the music anyway because I’m so focussed.

D’ye know what drives me up the wall?
