Another Girly problem

It also occurred to me that this is (in medical jargon) "unexplained vaginal bleeding". Surely a Dr should take any unexplained bleeding seriously? God, I hope the nurse is able to push things along for you.

Well the nurse was as helpfull as the dr, who is fully booked for the forseeable future and no i cant change my dr as no one else is taking on patients :) what a loads of bull.

Bearing in mind this is not a question of a suitable contraception, that was just what its been blamed on for so long. i dunno. stupid doctor. and nurse

You can always see another doctor even though they are not yours. You are allowed 2 different opinions on the NHS

This.

Speak to the receptionist, ask to book in with a different doctor to your own and say the *reason* you want a second opinion is because you're considering writing a formal letter of complaint against the doctor and the doctors surgery because you are entitled to a second opinion and you've asked for one on several occasions.

Be bold :)

Fucking twats!

I really do hope you get it sorted!

In my surgery you don't even have to give a reason to see another doctor, especially a female one. The only problem that arises is that particular doctors are more popular and are booked up usually.

It's weird that they're being so difficult and stand-offish like that.

I find it unacceptable that they don't want to find out the cause of the problem of something so important to a person, especially when it's gone on so long.

I have heard of issues with contraception but I think it's really importnat to eliminate any other concerns you may have and especially try and fix it. I had abnormal spotting/bleeding on the first couple of months on the 1st depo injection shot and I was a complete emotional wreck. I remember being close to tears as I mentioned all my crappy side effects to the nurse. =[ Can't imagine how it's been for you.. *hugs*

i like, letter of complaint, i may this over the phone though....and to be fair, i don't want another gp's opinion on this, i want a speciallist. damn it why are they shut now, im in just the right mood to talk to someone who deserves a mouthful

Good for you!

You deserve better treatment than you're getting!

And I'd write the letter of complaint regardless because they deserve it but definitely use it as a threat to make them realise you demand the care you deserve!

I would try another doctor, it may be an option how to get to a specialist. As you will need a recommendation to see a specialist from your GP.

I would write a letter of complain if I were you. Bleeding for which there is no apparent explanation means something. Its normal to bleed very slightly round ovulation, for a day or two. It happenes to certain percentage of women (happened to me few times as well and there was slight pain), but this does not sound anything like that. It is not every week.

You could try a family planning clinic/GUM - they've done smears for me before and have done since I was around 20 I think.

Good luck hun!

xxKPxx

i used to bleed randomly was a result of PCOS though. I would bleed and not stop until the doc gave me meds to do so.

As for the smear... make a fuss... no doc should be denying anyone a smear.... idiots...

Miss Orgasm

I haven't read everyone elses replies but i have 10days of bleeding before my period and I've been percribed progresterone on its own (its NOT a contraceptive!) and this month - its worked!! Then after 3 months the Gyne is hoping my body will produce it on it's own which means I can stop taking it!

Hope this helps... Go to see a Gynecologist. They are specialists - your doctor's Nurse will know nothing.
