Anyone else graduating?

I know loads of us are students on here so was just wondering how many are graduating this year?

I'm in my last three weeks and on the borderline of a 2.1 and 2.2 so it's so stressful! Obviously much family don't understand but whatever.

I originally applies for physics but changed to neuroscience before starting and now I'm graduating in zoology- I have learning disabilities- one of my only "gifts" is that I can change my mind very easily when something isn't going right, because I can't focus I don't get stuck on one track, it didnt phase me in the slightest changing degree.

What is everyone else studying, do you know your grade? How are you coping? If you are at all because I know I'm not!

Is there any 1st years here?! Are you excited?
Are there any 2nd years? I saw on my uni page that our 2nd years have put in their choices for their dissertations, I felt like I was an inmate watching the new arrivals as I was packing to be released lol
And is there anyone determined to stay at uni their entire lives? I know some here have multiple degrees and I'm so impressed because I'm not even sure I want this one after all the hassle it's given me lol

Hello!

I'll be graduating a BSc Psychology in July :) Only have one more exam to go next week in abnormal psychology (mental illness) then I'm done my undergrad. Likely coming out with a 2:1 and heading off to a post grad in CBT. The people at my bdsm meet ups find this hilarious because CBT means simmering very different to them obviously ;P

Good on you for changing if your heartwasn't in it :) I've wanted to do psychology since about year 9 and don't find anything else as interesting.

I get stressed obviously but about two months ago I wrote everything I needed to do, each exam, assignment, application, etc on separate post it notes and put them on my wardrobe. I've been peeling them off as I do them and crumpling them up. Now there's only 3 left and it's so satisfying. Whilst I'm doing a postgraduate it's just a year long and I really just wanna be out working. I already have a part time job in mental health which I love and so I'm really eager to start :)

Good luck! Sure you'll do great :)

I am studying medicine, but have only done half of my program, so I got three years left. :) I'm pretty tired of studying but I hope I will feel more rested after the summer.

We don't have grades in Sweden, just passed and failed when you read medicine so all the best students wont end up in the capital and the worst ones in less popular cities. So here, you just have to pass all examsz

I am not planning to stay at uni, I can't wait until I get to start working. I really love people and get great connections with them in real life, so I will love working and helping people. :)

I'm graduating this year, one exam left at the end of the month and I'm done! :)

That's an awesome idea with the post its Monday, I planned everything out on my calendar but it just feels so monumental because it's just these three exams. And of course because I'm on the borderline, I'd be so chilled out right now even if my grades were lower and I had no chance of getting a 2.1, but because I can I'm so pressured to get it :/
Is your postgrad gearing you towards a certain job sector? Do you know what job you want? It took me ages to decide what I wanted to do but I think I want to teach children to respect and love animals and nature, I used to get really upset about the horrible people and the animals suffering and how it'd impossible for me to stop it all, then realised that although I can't stop these people doing it at the moment, I can prevent our children starting doing it, and teach them that even as normal members of the public they can fight just by petitioning and voting.

Sxleksaker I'm majorly impressed with anyone doing medicine, it's such a long course! Are the boundaries more strict for you then since you don't get grades? Here you can pass with 40% but it really doesn't mean much in terms of getting a job. Is there any work you could do alongside your course? My sister worked as a bank nurse or something (getting sent to departments that were short on staff) while she was still at uni, she worked in loads of different departments so had a good idea of what she wanted to do when she finished

Are you excited or nervous? I'm terrified about my exams but can't wait for them to be done with lol

Yes, a bit more strict. You have to get over 65% to pass, but some exams further along the course demands 100% (it's about prescribing medicine).

I would like to work (to get extra money), but I study so much that it is impossible for me to work (and be sane) at the same time haha :p

Your field of work sounds really fun, I love animals too and it's great that you are so dedicated to your future work. Will you be working at a school or teach kids in some other way? :)

I'm not.....but my youngest daughter is !! So pleased and proud of her xx

Sxleksaker it's so funny to learn that you are studying medecine! Guess what I'm studying too! This means that when you where havibg scool difficulties and I told you I was having some too I was really having similar difficulties!

I wish I would be done soon but I still have so manu years left

We seem to be pretty similar Mamz! 😄 I guess we are the same age too haha. Hope you are doing well :)

Hey Y&F im graduating this year and plan in a couple of years to do a masters. How are you doing? xx

Graduated 16yrs ago now, damn where have the years gone!!??

What did you study Squid? :)

I understand the pressure if you're borderline but if you put your head down I'm sure you can get your 2:1. :)

My postgrad is geared towards the job of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner so the psychological therapies type sector. My dream job is cognitive behavioural therapist and after my postgraduate I should be doing a low intensity version of that then I can train to become a regular CBT therapist :)

That sounds like such a worthwhile job you're looking at! Much respect for people who are respecting our planet. Are you looking into postgraduates or going into the job market? Gotta keep that 20% discount on for a bit longer I reckon :P

That's pretty decent boundaries, especially for the field. Yeah I know what you mean with not having enough time to work, my family have gone on and on about working part time. They just don't understand how much work is required for uni! I'll be working for an organisation that sends you into schools for days/weeks. Will you be doing further studies to specialise afterwards?

Glad you're proud of her :) my family aren't right bothered tbh. Are you going to her ceremony?

Hey! Haven't spoken in ages! What do you study again? I'm doing fine, struggling with this horrendous module I have an exam in next week. Some lecturers are just terrible! Are you confident with your results?

Wow that sound so interesting! So it'll be mainly helping people with mental health issues? I'm going to sort my family life out first, marriage, baby, home, the works, then into a job, I'll do charity work along the way to still help animals, probably in a shelter. I'm definitely not doing a postgrad, can't wait to get out of the place! You don't really need a degree to do what I want, just to be able to display a passion for animals which a degree and charity work will do. I respect anyone that survives uni more than 3 years!

Y&F, after I graduate, I first have two years when I will work as a doctor in many different departments with some guidande from more experienced individuals and after the two years are done, I will have a big exam to get my license as a doctor. After that, I will pick a field I would like to specialise in and work in that department for around 5 years, then I will be a specialist :) I am not so keen to get a doctorate at the moment, I'd rather work in the clinic :)

Your job sounds really fun. You will be able to meet a lot of kids, and they will probably all think that you are talking about something really important and exciting. Probably a very rewarding job :)

Yeah mainly therapy for people with different mental health issues :) I'm only doing my postgrad because I need to for the job because the thought of staying any longer is bloody awful. I've had a lovely time in some respects, got involved in my Nightline and students union and made wonderful friends but definitely will not miss the work load.
