burlesque themed hen party...

I am looking to have a burlesque themed hen pary.

I have a few ideas of what to wear and what not, but would be great if anyone else can share thier ideas/experiences?

cheers

ive been to a few burlesque parties (obviously not a hen do!) and seen a few girls wear the hats with the large feathers coming out of the top, and matching corsets. hope thats a good start

I think I quite like your idea of the feather hat... I'm having an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding, so a Mad Hatters hat would be perfect!

oh very nice!

1. dont forget te heels and fishnets, recommend big false eyelashes

2. get some pics!

Oh i deffinately wont forget the heels!

awww I'm so excited!

I actually helped to organise a friends burlesque themed hen night a couple of years ago. I found it really helpful to pick a colour scheme and then have everyone dress up in those colours. We choose Red and Black. This meant that friends who could not afford to invest in new clothes for the night could wear red/black clothes from their wardrobes and still fit in. Again to save money and to keep things different I took along a big mix of masks, feather boas, fans, hats, head dresses, beads, tutus, sashes etc all in Red & Black and everyone picked their favourite and wore it for the night - a lot got swapped around as well. I found this made the pictures really unique as everyone was different. We hired a room in a bar and had sparkling and cocktails and then hit the town. We didn't have a specific 'burlesque' dance option available but it would have been brilliant to have organised a teacher or someone to show us some moves. Also don't forget we run a Hen Night Store too and we have a burlesque category! Same great delivery and customer service : )

The Mini Burlesque Top Hat on there is gorgeous!

Seamed Stockings!!

I've been performing burlesque for just over a year now and can say, with certainty, you definitely need seamed stockings! And yes, as everyone else has said, corsets, bustles, hats & feathers are perfect. Don't forget long gloves too! ;)

If any of the guests are tight for cash they can always get feather boas and pearl bead style necklaces from poundland to help with their outfit. :)

Corset, sexy nickers, garters and stockings, you could add a bustle too.
