Butt Plug Opinions Wanted

Simple yet blunt questions because I'm curious. :p

• Is bigger better ? (TBH I'm worried about going to large toys in case they'd stretch me permanently).

• What's your favourite plug available on LoveHoney ?

• Plugs or Beads, and why ?

I recently bought the Lovehoney Classic Silicone Slimline Medium Butt Plug as I thought it looked petite and comfortable enough to wear regularly and tease the partner with naughty pics etc... however... as much as I want to be sensible and stay small, I can't help coming back to wanting the Doc Johnson Large Butt Plug or something similar... (of course almost reviews of it are glowing, but not many people mention what other experience they've had and long lasting effects etc.).

Basically I'm a horny scaredy cat, ahaa. Thank you for any insight !

OK... I assume this is what you currently have?

Not necessarily, no. More important is finding something in a body safe material, that is comfortable, that stays in place, and that is not going to get lost inside. If you want to go up a size from where you are I'd recommend no bigger than the LH Classic Medium at 5.25". Any larger could be too big a challenge. Personally I'd avoid the DJ plug if it's one of their PVC ones. It's fine if you only plan to keep it a few months, but porous materials like jelly rubber are best avoided completely.

As for long term stretch, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. The bum is surprisingly elastic and returns to it's normal tightness very quickly. Otherwise there'd be tens of millions of incontinent ppl in the UK alone!

• What's your favourite plug available on LoveHoney ?

Either the LH classic silicone medium:

...which is my go-to warm up toy for any anal play.

Or the Icicles 48 glass flower:

It's petite but solid, and really comfortable for long term wear.

• Plugs or Beads, and why ?

For me, plug, no question. But everyone's tastes are different. I love the 'full' feeling you get from a plug, and beads just don't give that. Also much harder to stimulate the prostate with beads whereas a well-fitting plug will rub against it with every little movement.

Because of nerves when buying the first one nearly everyone then finds it a bit small but the tendency could be then to go other way, too big.

Finding a middle ground as sex squid suggested is best.

As well as size you could also experiment with materials. Glass and metal will feel different, harder so giving a fuller feeling.

For feel I like https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35191 but for looks I like https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=37925.

I like beads as well but it is a really different sensation. Pulling them out at the point of orgasm feels amazing and I would imagine even more so with a partner in control.

Bigger is better! Gets addictive though!

No need to worry about permanent stretching, your not actually stretching anything or making it bigger per se, it's more a case of training your body to relax the muscle sufficiently and to not send pain signals when it does. I can take larger than 8 inch circumference and my plumbing still works perfect. I've even read one take that suggests anal play is like a bit of a gym workout for your sphincter so if anything it makes it healthier and stronger.

The experience of going larger puts more pressure on your G-spot/P spot and can elicit some very intense full body orgasms. The feeling can be so intense and pleasurable that you lose control of your bladder.

My experience with Doc Johnsons range has been very good, but the materials do matter and I agree, stay away from jelly. The Doc Johnsons large plug is way too big a step to take from the slimline plug though, you need to take small jumps in circumference to train for larger objects.

I recommend getting a couple dildos for anal play, either solo or with partner, they are very good at helping train the muscles to relax. I really like and recomend the lovehoney beaded glass dildo for this purpose and also the Tantus dildos with about 4.5 to 5.5 inch circumference are perfect for training. I'm not a big fan of beads personally.

Couple links for you of things that would be good for your next step and preparing for larger if you want that.

This ones a bit bigger but is awesome once your ready.

Thank you both so much for your input !

Sex Squid, I agree about no bigger than the LH Classic Medium; I've just been looking through some of our older toys and realised that actually I did struggle with a few of the more ambitious options (I have a very tiny build, so what my partner can take often leads me into that false confidence of "Oh, if he can take it I totally can... ow oww owww!". :')
Thank you for your advice and the reassurance about stretching out; I suppose part of my post was me needing some confirmation and reassurance/sensibility.

AmyA, speaking of too big, have you seen the new US products for testing ? A few of them are absolutely ginormous !
I've never tried metal before, so I'll definitely look out for some small metal plugs, and maybe larger beads, since they work up gradually anyway. :) (don't worry; we already have beads, that question was more of a "what do other people prefer ?").

Oh my goodness, I only just saw your reply... the name KingGrthy made me snort, that's wonderful ! :'D I'll check back for more advice/tips/recs later as I have to go out now. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. <3

Squid helped me with the "bum questions" 😂. Was a while ago but I still have his advice stored in my brain, thank you squid.

I don't think bigger is always better I have quite a few in my collection now. I went from "nothings going up there" to "oh look this one has sparkles!" I am one who likes to try a bit of everything. I have rubber, silicone, glass, metal, vibrating, remote, geisha ball... A bit of everything.

The one I found best for long term wear is the fifty shades primal attraction. It sits very comfortably and has a good taper so it's easily inserted.

My favourite though is the Luxe gem as well it's sparkly and I can be a bit of a magpie. My husband prefers me wearing the glass ones as he enjoys the view.

Relax when going a little bigger, do not force it! The body is an amazing thing as it knows when to stop.

Just had a look and wow they're umm....generous. i like a decent size but being only 4ft 7 I think some of those might kill me lol!

The only beads I've used so far are these https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=4864 but enjoyed them so have got these now https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=24318 I have plugs the same circumference as the largest bead and length is half a inch longer than the other so hoping it will be fine.

I'd love wear plug in work all day

Which ever plug you decide on it needs to fit properly. Too small and it will fall out.....or you will possibly push it out as you orgasm. Too big and it will feel as though you've shoved a red hot poker up there !

A properly fitting plug will take a few deep breaths to get it in place. Push it in a little further each time you exhale.....this is when your muscles will be at their most relaxed. Once in place it should feel comfortable enough to walk around without it moving. To remove it.....it should take a fair amount of a pull. Try to use a continuous gentle pull, that way it will feel lovely. xx

Don't worry about going too big, it's only once you get to my size 4 inch dia fist size that your/my bum hole is stretched way bigger than most people's so even a large is relatively small to me. Our bodies are amazing you'll be really surprised just how far you can push things.
