buying a new bed

We bought a super king sleigh bed and it's a huge big lump of a wooden bed, however I'd love to change it and the wife won't let me, she loves the look of it and the big flat wooden headboard that she loves to use her suction cup toys on because it's perfectly flat but my problem is sometimes if say she's kneeling on the bed and I'm standing beside it taking her from behind (perfect height), it has this big wooden side that sticks out and i've torn my shins on it more times than anything.......

Iv got plans on building a new bed once in not to busy refurbing the house. Im thinking of including some decorative features that double as sexy play features such as tie down points, toy storage. Also getting the height just right for off the bed sex too. Our current bed means if L lays on her back at the edge and i stand its just right for sex.
if im successful with my designs i may start making them to order but that wont be for a while but one day id love my own business making specialist and non specialist furniture. I all ready have a throan style chair that's great for bondage and teasing play.
Has anybody else looked in to beds or furniture designed with play in mind?

Ours is awesome. It's an antique 'designer' frame and headboard that was inherited and replaced our old one, which was a very thin pillow top on boxsprings- yeah, no actual mattress!

This one has underbed storage adn we went full-out with memory foam mattresses and pillows. The only problem is that the headboard is completely solid, and it does have a tendency to eventually get noisy if we're really at it.

The weird thing- sex is SO MUCH NOISIER when I'm on top. I'm, like, a foot shorter and sixty pounds lighter than my husband. Why???

Sorry for the double post- mods, I tried to edit and it wouldn't work. I can't live with typos :/

I couldn't imagine what using a strong vibe would sound like without the memory foam.

On our recent trip to amsterdam we stayed on a bed with a cocomat mattress - all natural fibres and no metal springs. Absolutely the best night's sleep hubby has ever had, and no squeaky noises whatsoever!

Not cheap at about 4000 GBP but a great investment.

My bed is made of a few old pallets and a Hypnos mattress I got from their 'seconds' shop online for £200 and it's extra firm :-)

im single now so theirs a LOT of room for just me! The only thing bad bat a headboard made of pallets is that it's not comfy to hold on to etc, but I really like the idea of a concealed hook at the back... Think I'll be trying that one out one day!

the bed and mattress are king sized..... I love it :-)
