Chipped elbow!!!

This is soo off topic but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about chipped elbows, I fell about 6 years ago and think I may have chipped the bone in my elbow. There was a large hole in my elbow (flesh) which is now just a scar but when I lean on my elbow its very very painful.
Anyone know anything about this or a cure?

I would go and see your doctor, I have the same problem with my elbow and knee, the pain isnt from the bone but nerve damage probably after my 46th bike crash lol....aerobics cured it for me.

Thanks, after researching and finding no cure I was concerned
Bikes.... Ooh Im a bike fan ( watching not riding) lol

its a great sport but after reaching 23 yrs of age I noticed I didnt bounce the same as when I was a teenager, no greater turn on than winning a race in front of your girl friend.....and no scarier experience for a young woman than to see her boy friend tumbling up the tarmac at 100+ mph.

I would get it checked out can develop into more serious problems in later life. my joints stiffen in winter.

I chipped my left elbow as a teenager and had to have lots of physio. I now have 'tennis elbow' which comes and goes especially in cold weather or after sport. I use hot/ cold treatment and take anti inflammatories if it's particularly painful. Seems to do the trick.

As others have suggested see your GP just to get a confirmation.

Hope that helps.

Thanks I have an appointment with my gp next week

Ha ! S4L I have exactly the same thing (I think). I crunched my elbow hard about 15 years ago. For years it was v painful every time I knocked it. Gradually it became more and more pointed.

Went to the doc who said it was calcified, ie each time you bash it, you get a new growth of bone repair tissue. I said it often ached and was a problem using it for my various sport activites. He referred me to the local bone/joint specialist/surgeon. He said he could take the build-up of calcium off, but no guaranttes that it would sort it..... because my elbow would treat the operation as if it was an injury, resulting in it growing a fresh layer of calcium over the 'damage' he had produced.

So decided not to do anything about it...... and guess what? Like so many injuries, it sorted itself out. I still have the pointy elbow, but it's no longer sensitive and painful. So my advice is don't worry if your doc isn't worried. Your body is an amazing bit of kit, that has evolved lots of self-repair capability over millions of years of our ancesters bashing their elbows and other bits.
