Do Lovehoney do pricematch?

I did read it :)

But for me i would rather pay £35 more and have the reassurance that if i dont like the toy i can send it back rather than pay £35 less and find im left with a toy that is not for me or in a couple of months the toy breaks or develops a fault im then out of pocket with no toy and no way of getting my money back so then i have lost more than i have saved also if you break down the extra £35 you have paid over the year it amounts to just under £3 a month so i really dont mind paying an extra £3 a month for the guarantee that i can send it back anytime during that year :) but i also understand that some people look at an item being cheaper and grab it because its a big saving and people are now counting the pennys :) but in the long run i just think paying that extra makes better sense to me

Well said. And while we are on the subject of pennies, £35 spread over the year that you can send it back in amounts to piece of mind for less than 10 pence a day.

I too read the thread but also as I pointed out, for that extra '£35' you gain an extra 350 reward points, and a full 365 days return window - think of it as a years worth of insurance.

But by all means, purchase the product from the cheaper site. You'll probably find however there is a reason .. if it's too good to be true, it usually is.

Generally LH is extremely competitive and prices are on par with most other retailers, but LH has a few added benefits that make it worth while.

I also find it funny to be discussing the current economic climate when you're talking about lavish and expensive sex toys.

I am another customer who will (and has, many times) purchased the item from Lovehoney, even after seeing it on offer elsewhere. The simple fact is that this company offer security in your purchases (Amazing returns policy) and for me, that is worth paying the extra for. Lovehoney have almost spoilt me with their security in purchases. Now when I shop anywhere else and see 7 day returns or 30 day returns if the item is unopened or anything else like it, I think PAHHHH nope....off back to Lovehoney. lol

I'm the same I chose to pay extra for one of the more expensive toys because its a lot of money to risk on something that might not show up or I might not like. Luckily it was a happy ending for all involved :-)

another site i use does price match (but also sells brands LH doesn't) and is cheaper on certain things even if it's only a few pence but their returns policy isn't as good as Lovehoney's for the sake of say 5p i'd rather buy off here if the two places sell the same product

Is everyone reading the entire thread? If so I'm astounded that such a difference (£35) would go ignored in the current economic climate!

Yes, we are reading the entire thread. Seeing as you've found this toy at such a low price on a different site - are you only comparing it to Lovehoney or other sex toy sites? Because it could be too good to be true. I'd check what the average price is for that item on say 5 different sites and see what you find and what those companies offer in general.

I've used 2 other sex toy companies apart from Lovehoney - I was pretty much forced to do so with one of them because Lh didn't have the item I wanted, and the other one was before I discovered this site. And I can tell you, 100% - I will never, EVER shop elsewhere for toys or lingerie again. Free delivery, Oh points, constant deals and discounts, free testing, returns policy... No other company has a 365day returns policy, especially on used items!

Its your money and your decision though, we're all just trying to be helpful :)

£35 saving would be ignored by me. Just I case after a month I have a really expensive you that has broken and I can't return. There has been a couple of people lately ordering from sites where their order has never been delivered and they've had money taken off them. I would much rather pay an extra £35 for the peace of mind and added benefits that come along with it.

I agree, times are hard. But this is a luxury sex you you're taking about, I'm sure there's cheaper versions that do the same job, but let's face it, we all want the ones that look fancy. If I couldn't afford something from LH, but noticed the same thing on another site for cheaper that I could afford, I would just save up for that little bit longer. It's not that big of a deal.

I stick with Lovehoney regardless of the price difference, however I'll make a frew exeptions when it comes to smaller items such as a means of storage for my toys that I can't get here, and if delivery is free of course. :P

I agree with what PPD has said. Have you checked other sites or just compared it to Lovehoney? It might just be too good to be true. Other people have be known to have their money taken off them from other sites with nothing to show.

I would without a doubt pay extra, just for peace of mind that you can return it for any reason, even if used and you don't like it, within 365 days.

Maybe try contacting customer services and see if they can do anything for you?

I emailed customer services and didn't really get anywhere and that's genuinely fine, its a business that can be run in whichever way they wish and reading the above their assertion that £x is acceptable for peace of mind is clearly accurate. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little surprised with such a large price difference (its hardly 5p).

I'd forgotten, but we also bought a fever costume last week that is here on LH for ~£30, we paid £9 with free delivery and it arrived within two days. Our lube of choice is cheaper elsewhere too. In fact, increasingly I see lots of things significantly cheaper elsewhere.

Whilst I tend to agree with peace of mind etc. the reason we started shopping at LH rather than at our local sex shop or the the high street brands was due to competitive pricing etc. which seems to be disappearing. At that point we were taking a chance on LH living up to expectations, I see little reason not to extend that same reasoning to other companies (after a bit of a check to see that the have a UK address etc.). If delivery is an issue I can walk down to my local store and pick this item up for the same price as on LH, zero waiting, and probably courteous given I actually had the privilege of holding said item (I work in a small specialist store who suffers somewhat from larger competition, we survive on the quality of our advice but I doubt for too much longer!).

I'd be interested in knowing which sites people have had specific issues with but I'd imagine that can't be posted here...

BTW the item in question comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty anyhow!

A Manufacturers warranty only really protects you from defects. You wouldn't be able to contact the manufacturer if you didn't like the item, for example.

There are always going to be places that might offer items Cheaper. At no point has LH ever marketed itself as a discount place. But I will stand by my reasoning - LH is the only place I will ever shop because it's one of the only places that sells adult products that rewards ongoing loyalty with a bonus points scheme, offers a year to return items (if you don't like a product, you can send it back, no questions asked) and they offer free testing products etc.

I genuinely believe LoveHoney is a unique site, and their prices are totally justified. If you believe it is too expensive here, then don't shop here. Simple as. But the countless thousands of other LoveHoney customers obviously feel happy with the service, the range and the perks that LH provide that price isn't really a massive issue.

Yeah, what ^ he said.

No true. I'm not arguing that the returns policy isn't unique and excellent just that its not worth 40% of the value (or 70% in the case of the outfit). Maybe it is to you, it isn't to me. And, whilst Oh! points are a nice addition their monetary value works out as tiny in comparison to the figures i've just quoted.

The latter paragraph completely contradicts my initial experience with LH (we joined the forum somewhere around 2007 but likely shopped earlier) some time ago that they were actually a lot cheaper than elsehwere for most items.

But you're right, I/we aren't forced to shop here.

If you do decide to shop elsewhere then make sure the site looks reputable enough. Try searching on google for the site/company name along with "review" to see if it has good feedback or if it has a few disgruntled customers kicking up a fuss. Also try searching the website URL with the word "whois" and have a look at a few of the sites that come up. If you see and foreign addresses come up (especially Asian) then you should be very wary.

When I first moved on from a certain high street retailer I tried a number of different sites and had a pretty bad experience with one that appears high on a google seach for Lovehoney and begins with 'B'

I ordered a toy, plus 2 of their version of this product

http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=15830

I didn't receive the free gift that was promised and only received one of the metal clips. Due to the hassle vs. the costs I didn't bother complaining but they've had no more custom from me. Now I only ever 'cheat' on LH for items that they don't stock.

What she said !

I think LH service is second to none and would rather know that was what I was getting rather than take a risk!

Bumping to see if things have changed? I can’t see anything on the website but I might be blind.

LH has an item for £129 and the manufacturer site direct has it for £80 free delivery and a 2 year warranty. That’s a massive difference so wanted to double check.

@MrsT Things haven’t changed but it’s always good to chat to them, their chat function is awesome been very helpful.
