Excuse for receiving a parcel? :-D

So. I have a parcel coming tomorrow, before 1pm and I'm having a fleeting note of panic that it might arrive before my mother leaves for work at 9:30am...

Any ideas what I could say is in the box that I might have ordered a new one of as to throw her off the trail. Are they book sized parcels...?!

She'll undoubtedly ask what's in it... oh gosh!

Depends how much you ordered and how big the products are. Small items tend to come in padded envelopes and don't look or feel the way a book would feel in a padded envelope, but I think you'd be fine if you get a box.

just say your doing ,humanitarian work and its your start up pack

could say tht its a bday or xmas pressie for someone then if she gets too nosy be like "its for you now go away!!"

Hair care / beauty products from an online retailer - this one came to mind as I do surveys and got a parcel delievered to test some shampoos and conditioners and the box was very similar in size and weight to a LH one?

Somebodys birthday present - could be anything you think of that fits the box size?

Books though this depends on what you've ordered and the size and weight, the parcels would probably be heavier for books.

ding dong ,, avon

i have pretended to friends that my LH packages are shoes. when they ask to see my new shoes, i bring out another pair of shoes that are new and unworn (shoe buying problem) and they are none the wiser.

I am sure your mother would be impressed with new "cleaning products" from Lakeland etc. LH packaging is very discreet. So have the house clean and nice later on

The downside being if you do "too good" a job she might ask to see the products or worse ask you to order her some more teehee.....

Ahh yes,, maybe not such a good idea

I'm so glad I like with my OH as I can't lie for toffee

Personally I'd just say it was none of their business! :o Although I'm none for my online shopping habits so my parents/ roomates at uni don't tend to bother asking what it is!

Thanks for the suggestions! Pretty big box... vibe as well as a couple of little things along side it... :-/

The parcel came at twenty past 9... ten minutes before my mother left for work and I wasn't fast enough to get to the door X( She said aloud to my sibling who is currently in the house that I have a parcel (who will probably ask what's in it too... eek!). Gonna head into town and return before she gets back from work, maybe buy a load of hair product... vitamins... Maplins gadgets or something heavy that would require a signature for delivery >.< Oh my.

My mum once asked so I replied "should you be asking questions like that so close to your birthday?" It wasnt actually that close to her birthday if I remember rightly but she has never ever asked again since.

its always the small parcels that catch me out!! and the heavy ones too!

My mum never asked bless her if she did probably would of told what it she was good about stuff like that

I loved someones answer on a previous post about this where they said they double bluffed. Just tell the nosy person something like "Well its a 12 inch strapon and nipple tassles" Then the nosy person will run away embarrassed for asking or going "ha ha yeh yeh" and you can slink off to your room to play with your 12 inch strapon and nipple tassles hehe

(Only works if your brave I guess lol)

With all this '50 shades of grey' mummy porn, does it really matter?

I would definately tell her it is a few early Christmas presents, and tell her not to look wherever you hide your sex toys as it would spoil the surprise. This little white lie kills 2 littles birdies with 1 stone. I agree with Janny. Talk to your mum and introduce her to something new.
