Sounds like you've got all the advice you need but just to reinforce it use a LOT of lubricant. You can't produce your own there so you want to make sure you have more than enough lubricant applied. You'll also want to try a finger and then two first keeping them in until you feel comfortable otherwise you just going to get a lot of pain. It's also important to note that you'll want to be clean there beforehand to avoid any potentially embarrassing incidents.
I know tigerlillies suggested not to use any numbing creams but we've got some this week which were going to test at some point so I'll let you know what we feel of them afterwards.
It has all been said and I would advise you do take on board what people have tole you , so you can really enjoy it.

I'd say that's a pretty sound way of doing it. Lube is important, if it hurts/stings at all then stop, slowly withdraw, add a bit more lube & gently try again.
