On the old forum we used to have “Friends”.
Does this feature still exist on the new forum?
Apparently not. It was an old feature and has not been provided on this forum.
I am sure someone will give a more thorough explanation but I know a few people have asked.

No, it’s not a feature on this set-up. Though it wasn’t much of a feature in the last place either after they removed the private chat function. 
You can find people really easily on here using the Search and User list. 
To search for someone’s latest posts you simply pop an @ in front of their Username in the search (eg. @Ian_Chimp) and then order the results by Latest.
And to search the user list you just type the name in clean (no @, no space at the end).
