Help!!! star trek!

hi all,

am looking for some stocking fillers for my other half, who apparently is into star trek (who knew eh!) but the origional ones - now i know nothing of it apart from there are tonnes of different ones!

any clues to gifts and which star trek type it should be (if that makes sense)

thankyou!

Hiya Hun, luckily Mr Scorpius is a big fan - so here are his thoughts:

Your OH would be interested in either the Original Series with Kirk & Spock etc:-

Star Trek - The Original Series - Season 1

Star Trek - The Original Series - Season 2

Star Trek - The Original Series - Season 3

Star Trek - The Original Series - Season 3

or the first 6 movies which continued from the Original Series:-

1. Star Trek - The Motion Picture
2. The Wrath of Khan
3. The Search for Spock
4. The Voyage Home
5. The Final Frontier
6. The Undiscovered Country

Note:- You can also buy all the above movies as a DVD Box Set:-

Star Trek: Original Motion Picture Collection 1-6 [DVD]

depending on how big a fan and whats hes got how about something like this

http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/star-trek--gray-tribble?

http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/star-trek-classic-phaser-keychain-torch?

thanks everyone thats great!!!

Be careful! Trekkie fans are notoriously opinionated about which Trek series is the best - just watch Big Bang Theory as evidence of this!

Find out if your OH prefers the original cast, Next Generation or the more recent Enterprise. Age of OH will play a factor in this!

Amazon is the answer to everything! Good luck !

ha thank you taraman, i watched the BBT trekky episode last night - he likes the first ones and is aged mid 40's , ? the ones he watches on tv are the very very old ones i think? (can you tell im not a trekkie fan!)

thats the one!!! lol

Lol I love BBT so much. I'm also early 40's but prefer Patrick Stewart and Enterprise and also the rebooted movies.

If your OH has not seen the last 2 Star Trek movies these would be an excellent buy on DVD as they have rebooted the original 1960's characters with amazing CGI effects. Couldn't recommend it high enough, otherwise various box sets will do for Christmas !

BBT - can never get enough of it, makes me laugh so much

argh it's so hard buying Xmas presents for people with definite ideas lol sorry for bugging but which 2 star trek movies do you mean (i am totally ignorant of these things!)

thankyou will have a look x

I suppose if you wanted to give him a sexy treat for christmas, you could coat yourself with green pool cue chalk and do an erotic dance for him?

Heh!

Laughing at this! Would definately be original!

ha ha and plenty of cue chalk as he plays pool - two of his fav hobbies in one!

Lmao! All his christmas's coming together in one!

I thought the first one was an excellent reboot with the small touches as you say.

The second was an even better film and the CGIs are amazing! I think it is also better as the 'old' characters were all introduced in the first film so they could just get straight into the plot. Awesome film.

As someone who really was not a star trek fan, both reboot movies were brilliant!

But to be fair, I could have just watched a movie of Benedict Cumberbatch talking in that deep voice for 2 hours and I would have been happy.

The husband is a MASSIVE Star Trek fan (he went to the convention in London last year and met all 5 captains) so he was in his geek element.

I can tolerate The Next Generation, but If I was to choose a Star Trek series to watch, it would be Voyager. Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway, later Admiral) is my favourite.

Get yourself a tight, VERY short red mini dress, big gold earrings and talk about monitoring frequencies and sensors picking things up. Oh, and Red Alert, all decks battle stations.

think the movies are on the list as sound like something I could listen to ......... I mean watch........

as for the mini dress, not sure with my figure it would work but did make me giggle!

First reboot movie was great. The characters play their parts really well. Wasn't so happy with the latest reboot.

lol, ear wax and luck??
