Intimate hair... yay or nay?

I couldn’t agree more, fortunately I would consider myself wise to that of the influence of social media, peer pressure and false information, even on platforms such as this. However, I would be naeive to suggest they have not impacted me in some way. Further education is needed but very hard to implement as their is still so.much stigma and taboo

Most certainly it relates to other generations.

Magazines, the pictures of the women in the magazines were all thin, they had to be thin to make it in the modelling world. There are many accounts of former models who were at the time thin but were asked to diet or they won’t be able to work.

The interwebz, as this grew so did the usage of photo shop, every picture of a model seen had been photo shopped, either to make them thinner, make their hair perfect, their face line perfect and their boobs bigger or more shapely, the list is endless.

This of course had a huge impact on the Mental health of young people, there was a huge increase in young people suffering from Anorexia and body dysmorphia. It was not until just a few years ago that the issue was brought to light, and the way Women, and Men, portrayed in Magazines and on the internet was not the reality of how people are. It was said that changes needed to be made to show a true reflection of how people actually look. As such you now see Models of all shapes and sizes, mainly Women, but it is progress in comparison.

Today there is a big issue among people, mainly younger people, as to how they should look and dress. I do tend to blame the Internet for still giving false representations as to how some one should look. Many year’s ago Women did not generally shave their pubic area, today most do. A lot do so because of comfort however many do so because they feel they will not be accepted or they will be critisised if they don’t. This is from a UK perspective, many Europeans will not shave, including under arms, for them it’s quite natural and their right of choice. there is still a lot of pressure on people today to act like everyone else, but with more and more Websites, Magazines and TV programs showing “Normal” Looking people hopefully the concept of having to look a certain way to be excepted will be a thing of the past.

As I man I have always liked the look of Women from the 40’s and 50’s, natural looking. Marilyn Monroe was a size 16, to me she is the perfect looking lady.

That’s Intresting to hear and not an opinion I have heard often but is nice to hear! A lot of people I have spoken to will state that if a woman in particular has public hair then they would not preform oral as it is ‘unhygienic’ or not what it’s like in PORN… haunts me to think people use porn as an education tool

Thanks for your response. You raise many Intresting point and opinions all of which relate back to that of socital pressure. I do however find it Intresting your comment in regards to the ‘perfect woman’ just as Marylin Monroe was a size 16 then but that’s equivalent to a size 8-10 size now.

I do however think that the message that has come across these responses shows the lack of education and closed mindedness of our society (obviously not yourselves) today, but that as you correctly mentioned also have a baring within the past

Yes, my use of word ‘conforming’ probably wasn’t as neutral as I was trying to express. It’s Intresting that men don’t discuss this as much as women, especially as men on adverage have more body hair and often in porn the men are displayed as very let say "groomed’.

I did not type that very well did I? :upside_down_face:
What I meant was she was a lovely looking lady, that i’d be happy to date someone similar. I can see that how I explained it sounds condescending. I had absolutely no idea about the dress size equivalent from then and now.

@DanceswithPenguins Haha thats okay, I didn’t wish to sound rude at all. I unfortunately have the habit of asking direct questions so that the topic can be discussed fully.

Yes I didn’t either until i did some research into the matter and why my grandmother’s dress size 8 didn’t fit me! I do agree however that she was a very beautiful lady

@JC94 YES! Make talking about body hair normal, plus always a good icebreaker

Yeah that is Intresting, especially as men I have dated in the past didn’t all have body hair. But im definitely PRO body hair chat!

We’re early 30’s, my husband doesn’t mind either way, but I personally prefer being smooth. His pubes are really wiry, so he trims and stays pretty short. I hate shaving because I get bad razor burn and ingrown hairs, so I prefer waxing. During the pandemic while most places were closed, I got a bit hairy but maintained with trimming :+1:

I shave from time to time, as does my wife, she likes to be trimmed, but I prefer her with hair. I always find she smells and tastes far better with hair down there. But that is my opinion.

Hi for me personally I hate hair on myself and even before I started having sex again, I started getting a Hollywood wax.

Exception being during lockdown when I trimmed, the 2 guys I have seen seem to love it bald but I do it for me not to please anyone :joy:

To be honest hairy or none hairy for me is personal choice… My ex was hairy, my oh prefers to be waxed… Although oral is much easier without loads of hair…

I need all the inches I can get so I fully shave which makes it look that little bit bigger

Personally (female, 50 next year) I don’t give a toss either way. Husband had a beard but we didn’t have sex very often so it wasn’t an issue. It was more an issue when he was stubbly and/or I’d waxed my bikini line. I don’t wax. Cba, to be honest. Just trim my nethers with scissors though I did it once and snipped my underwear…

Being a man of some considerable years I must say I only recently shaved completely however I must say I do prefer ladies with a little hair, may be a landing strip or something like that.

This is purely down to the advances of social media and Instagram manipulating the idea of how the perfect body is meant to conform to and makes people’s perceptions to be unrealistic in what reality looks like yet many strive to maintain it and add peer pressure to others reinforcing the negative body image cycle that causes so many body confidence issues.

Reality is we’re all different and should embrace what we feel comfortable with and what makes us happy. Having some pubic hair is actually good as it releases hormone scents that help attract the opposite sex, not to mention the health benefits too!

The partner and I keep things trimmed but not 100% hairless anymore. She was in studies for female sexuality and told me the reason women started shaving in the first place and it’s kind of wild. Definitely a rabbit hole to go down.
She could stop shaving and I don’t think I would mind. It just seems more Natural to have some body hair.
