John Lewis Ad...

It's very Watership Down which I wasn't a fan of, so I think the nostalgia aspect of the advert is lost on me.

I thought the bunny looked like the mad one from wartership down too!

I really dislike the whole Christmas thing when it comes to adverts and the amount of pressure put on you to spend and spend some more. There is so much emphasis on Christmas and having this big day with a big feast.

I think because i pick out alot of little things, they really get on my nerves. Like last years Asda advert which had the mum getting up in the morning basically doing everything from cooking the dinner to washing up and just when she is about to sit down the husband asks whats for dinner grrrr.

And then the Boots adverts where all those office workers like too spend £30-£50 on their colleagues lol.

Thing is it should be about spending time with family enjoying the day and relaxing. Boxing Day is my favourite though as its football and sports all day

I wouldn't mind christmas adverts and christmasy things if they started in December. But it pisses me off so much that as soon as summer is over, christmas starts. I went to homebase at the beginning of October and they had a friggin winter wonderland and christmas music.

It's so commercialised, people spend too much money and break the bank buying presents because they feel that they have to. "Well they bought me a present last year and it cost £20 so I have to do the same" etc.

I'm skint this year so I'll buy a couple of simple presents for my mum, sister and boyfriend. And that's all anyone will be getting. I love the family element of christmas and it is a special time of year but it just gets way out of hand.

Still love the John Lewis advert though. Damn!

I can't help but think..
Don't bears hibernate?

it was cute but cant say it made me cry...

2011's ad however made me blub

Not all bears hibernate.
Although I've not seen the ad so can't comment for this particular species..!

it did say 'an animal that had never seen christmas' which is why it was cute that the hare left an alarm clock so the bear wouldnt miss it :)

The choice of bear makes more sense in that case NE

I don't think I'm going to need to see it with this thread!!

its still worth a watch for cuteness but i would definately reccommend watching the 2011 ad especially if you have kids :)

Which was the 2011 one? I remember last years

its a little boy eagerly waiting for christmas day but not to open his own presents.. to give one to his parents :)

Yeah that one was cute :)

Not a fan of this years one

got to say I like this one

and I love the song but I do love lily allen xxx

I agree that the little boy waiting for xmas day is one of the best adverts. My personal favourite is the tatty ted advert, but thats because I love me to you bears.

I can't believe it cost £7million surprise http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2501916/John-Lewis-Christmas-advert-2013-ISNT-best-Xmas-tear-jerker-Tesco-trumps-it.html

Woah £7 million

I just watched it and it did make me tear up a little I will admitt! I'm now so excited for Christmas, It'll be the first year my eldest understands whats happening.

It's a cute advert, but it doesn't really make me want to go and buy stuff from John Lewis.

It is ridiculous the amount of money involved in all of these adverts you have to wonder how much impact it has.
I love the xmas ads because they're christmassy but it has no bearing on what i buy because im miles away from these major stores anyway.
Still love the ad though, can't wait till xmas!

Me neither, I wonder how much of their £7mil they'll recoup from it? And I know it's not all about sales but brand awareness but really, who doesn't know John Lewis exist?

I've not seen it :-(. Because we don't have John Lewis in Northern Ireland they play it less on our tv channels. Our bbc and itv tend to be slightly different to the mainlands .
I love a Christmas ad.... They get me excited , especially the coke truck one!
