I wasn't saying somebody couldn't have an opinion because they hadn't written a review yet - I was saying that they don't know how it feels to have their work trashed. If they written a review and it was slated they could relate to this thread better.

Hi all, I had a look after the other day and on that day I had I think 7 negs I just had a look just now and I now have if I counted correctly 21 negs. Nice work someone do us all a favor Get a job or something. Thinking about that folks hasn't the school holidays started. This might be bored youngsters.

I'll freely admit to giving the odd neg, but they are far outweighed by the positives I give for good reviews. I gave the negs for one or two line reviews (why bother!) and one that was so clearly a complete fantasy it got me annoyed.

Have currently only got 1 negative and 2 positives on a review I wrote - would be good to find out why they found it unhelpful, rather than who it was..
Lesley DONT LEAVE US... this will get all worked out i'm sure, OA are too good to let this effect any of us in the long run... dont lose focus of what we first came here for..which was to write reviews of toys and other products so that people could make an informed choice, we still do that and a couple of nerdy no0bs cant make any of us quit now.... I know I sound cheesy but I dont care :P

I wont say which review annoyed me, but it read like the wild fantasy of a 15 year old whose only experience of sex was from sci-fi porn films! And I generally dislike the two liners that say things like "GR8 dildo, the missus loved it, its fab you should definitely buy one you'll cum loads." sort of thing. Basically reviews that are totally subjective and give no useable information.
Oh, btw tallboy - like your reviews! You now have a couple extra votes.
I think I know which review (or at least who it was by), that you're talking about, BBG.
If it's an expensive toy we're talking about and the review gives no info on the product then you probably do Miss Nomer.

I give a negative for porn-esque. When I read the "she came a billion times! passed out! came again while passed out!" I give a negative. Unless you can tell me why this toy manages to break all laws of biology, then I have to assume you just gave me a false review. And they irritate me.
Of course, maybe I should do more porn. I'm up to about 24 negatives now. :)
I can Understand giving a negative to a pruduct you like if a reviewer has failed to say why they dislike it so, or the report is short, but in general, If you have own/reviewed the product and have a different view of the product, I think you should not be voting on it's usefullness as a review.
I am also sure that people give negs to well written reviews which slate a product somepeople own and like, goes on a hell of a lot on here. Giving a neg for disparity of feeling for a product is just wrong.
When the missus and I wrote the review for the wave, we really took time on it and tried toreally say why we disliked it in the most constructive way, how can that not be helpful?
I can only guess it was someone from AnnSummers(not, repeat not, saying it was, smeevee; a rep who also reviewed the product) or another adult seller, as it is the "it" toy of the moment and negs could be seen as unhelpful.
Either way this thread has reminded me that I should be reading more reviews and giving a + when well a written review is there.

And I agree with Ikkle - most of us are probably guilty of not spending enough time reading other reviews and rewarding the good ones.
