I would firstly like to say that this is not an argumentative post, it is not to cause any offence or trouble, I simply want to respond by explain my reasoning.

To all the people who worry about trying on lingerie that might have been tried on before:
You are aware that LH has taken back tried-on and even used lingerie for years (when I checked the policy, back when I first started buying, it already said "for trying, keep your own knickers on")? If anything, your risk is now reduced because the customer can't keep the item for 364 days, but only for 29...
Secondly, are you trying on clothes in stores? I generally only buy knickers when they are really cheap, and if in doubt I'll take an M and an L, but swimsuits, for example, I have to try on. Cycling shorts as well. Over my knickers, so I've never seen a problem.
Actually, you are not even sure that the person who tried on that pair of jeans before you wasn't going commando (I would hope not, and the thought had never crossed my mind before, but while we are on the subject it occurs to me that there's no guarantee...)
Thirdly, you, as well, are going to try on the lingerie over your knickers! And then, if it fits, wash the item before wearing it. Because the residues from the production process - excess dye, eventual insecticide treatment, heaven knows what else - are risky enough, even without possible human "contamination" (I suppose they are more dangerous, actually).
So I really don't see why you suddenly all have a problem with this aspect of Lovehoney's policy...
I am aware that Lovehoney have taken back tried on and used lingerie but as I have quoted below, this was the understanding:

If we are confident it is 100% brand new than we will restock it. If there is even a tiny bit of doubt we will dispose of it (the exception being non-intimate clothing apparel- such as dresses). Most items that come back to us that are restocked are parcels which have been returned to sender (incorrect address, refused parcels) and even then some get damaged in transit and we don't bother. I recently spent a bit of time in our returns department doing some myself and even if it was opened we just throw it out. Price doesn't come into factor either at all I should add too!
Generally I am not trying clothes on in store but am aware that most do. I agree with what you say about jeans as I have not thought about that but always wear another layer under them myself. I think the thing here is that Lovehoney aren't selling jeans, they are selling intimate clothing.
Again you are right in that I too would be trying on the lingerie but as I understood, if it was to be returned there was no chance of it being worn by someone else (talking only about intimate clothing here), which is why I suddenly have a problem. I know that it is costing the company to do it that way hence the change but I simply say that this change may affect my future purchases; I have been a customer for a while now and that isn't going to change but what I purchase might.
